Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

@WojYahooNBA: Free agent Kevin Martin has reached agreement on a four year, $28 million deal with Minnesota, league source tells Y!

I wanna laugh so bad right now

Who ever said Sam Presti was one of the best GM's in the league call them out so I can flame em

Presti is though. He assembled a team through the draft and some FA and fit the pieces together perfectly. It's not his fault his "Big 3" couldn't make it work financially. OKC built a great team the hard way. Not everybody can luck up on James Bosh and Wade.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Shit, or subtract 2million a year and get fucking Milsap! Or Robin Lopez at half the price! :smh:

Spurs get a lot of credit for their drafting but their free agent decisions have been shit and all depend on Duncan being a dominate big to cover how flawed their players truly are. You simply cannot do that shit at this point. Using that amount of cap on this clown at this stage is terrible. They had enough cap for a max or near max player and re-up on this clown??

Either Utah big is better

Spurs do some stupid ass shit in free agency but like you said Duncan and good drafting has saved them over the years Splitter is beyond overrated just because he can walk and chew gum at the same time at a decent rate

agree with dtown that was rushed.

Caron Butler pissed off :lol::lol::lol::lol:

It was very rushed half the NBA was interested in Bledsoe

Can't tell me that was the best deal they could have got

Fuck Butler dude has always thought he was better than he was

Enjoy your money on the worst team in the West

@WojYahooNBA: Free agent Kevin Martin has reached agreement on a four year, $28 million deal with Minnesota, league source tells Y!

I wanna laugh so bad right now

yea u were right. These guys messed up if they let him go. Is he restricted free agent or unrestricted?

 @ OKC

Fail fail fail

You almost HAVE to bring Martin back

7 million a year is VERY REASONABLE

Shit if this Dwight Howard thing was sorted out I would have taken him in Dallas for that

He played well in his role last season he wasn't Harden and you knew that

Gave up Harden for a rental :smh:

OKC looking real beatable right now out west, KD better turn it up even more

And Killa he was unrestricted

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

I'm a sam Presiti fan but this is a dumb as move. Word is they are looking at OJ Mayo now but with the lack of two guards on the market he might try to cash in.

Also Delonte West isn't signed to the Nets. Nothing official yet.

Phx trading for Bledsoe is stupid. You just paid ol boy last summer. Dragic and now you trade for his replacement?????

Martin wanted out of OKC from the looks of it.

Presiti has to do something because his team is going backwards since the NBA Finals appearance. Last thing you want is Durant to be restless and start thinking what if.

Duncan was loyal to the Spurs but he also won early. They showed him if he took pay cuts they would get better.

So far Westbrook Durant Ibaka have taken pay cuts. I know okc doesn't want to amnesty Perkins and pay him to play some where else but shit is about to get real in the West.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Russ
Thabo
KD
Baka
Perk

Monta
Fisher
Jackson
Collision
Jones

Why the hell would Monta come off the bench? Harden did it because it allowed him to shine. Once he realized that he would never be the IT guy, things changed. Monta is not going from one of the main options to a bench role.

Ummmm aye he could've kept that core intact and amnesty Perkins

I dont wanna hear shit

OKC is in a lose lose situation. Amnestying Perk now would be a day late and dollar short move that would have been better served the last 3years (when I begged for it daily) in efforts to keep Harden (who you should have kept until this summer). Amnestying now would have you without a starting 5 and without a 3rd scoring option.

OKC has officially become a clusterfuck in less than 13months removed from being in a title series and having with most thought was the best young core in the league.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

And that's why Durant signed with Jay Z he bout to come to BK in another year watch

It is his fault. I saw this issue coming 3years ago. Surely he should have. At worst he should have waited to deal with the Harden issue this offseason as opposed to breaking up last years western conference champion. I know its early but im gonna say that OKC is done as a title contender based on the current roster. Presti is in trouble.

Why the hell would Monta come off the bench?
Because he wont get a starting job anywhere else.... certainly not from a contending team (which is rumored to be his preference).

I highly doubt that. Bucks just traded away JJ and might lose Jennings. If push comes to shove, he'll be back with them.

David West, Pacers Nearing Three-Year, $36M Deal
Jul 02, 2013 12:44 PM EDT

David West and the Indiana Pacers are finalizing a three-year deal worth $36 million, according to sources. The third season will likely be a player option.

West was first signed by the Pacers in the 2011 offseason.

Good stuff and they let Tyler go. No mid range jumper, no contract.:smh: Now, Pacers have to find a legit backup 4. Was hoping to draft one, but they didn't.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

I made that shit up out the crack of my ass after playing 2k13 (he is like AI in that game) that being said props to you + others for making the offseason more interesting than the damn regular season

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

I doubted this before...now not so much

I'm telling you KD saw the writin on the wall when they didn't keep harden

Now with the Nets Garnett and PP is only a 2 yr investment and that money coming off the books plus in conjunction getting rid of Wallace contract which free up the nets even more

Watch
Dwill
JJ
KD
Maybe KG
Lopez

Sources: Pistons target Rondo; Pacers make Granger available

July 2, 2013 5:35 pm ET

If the Celtics want to trade Rajon Rondo, the Pistons and Mavericks will be interested. (USATSI)

Danny Ainge has said publicly that the Celtics aren't rebuilding, and that he's not trading Rajon Rondo. Be that as it may, the Pistons have let it be known how to reach them if Ainge changes his mind.

In the aftermath of the Celtics' decision to ship Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn last week, the calls have been coming in -- chiefly, regarding Rondo. The logical assumption was that if the Celtics didn't want to pay Doc Rivers $7 million to coach a rebuilding team and if Garnett and Pierce didn't fit into those plans, either, then Rondo would be the next to go.

Based on that possibility, the Pistons were among the first teams to reach out to the Celtics and express interest in acquiring Rondo, the All-Star point guard who is coming off an ACL injury, league sources told CBSSports.com. Having already made lucrative pitches to free agents Josh Smith and Andre Iguodala, Pistons president Joe Dumars also has registered interest in Raptors forward Rudy Gay, one source said.

The Mavericks, who met with free-agent center Dwight Howard on Tuesday, also intend to pursue a Rondo trade if the Celtics make him available.

Other trade possibilities around the league are percolating based on the outcome of free-agent pursuits. The Magic's talks with the Clippers regarding a potential swap of Arron Afflalo for Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler are ongoing but have cooled with the Clippers pursuing free agents J.J. Redick and, to a lesser extent given his options, Tony Allen.

The Magic, who chose Indiana's Victor Oladipo with the second pick in the draft, also are inclined to experiment with Oladipo at point guard starting with Summer League games. If they like what they see, the Magic might be inclined to hold onto Afflalo, who is due $7.5 million in each of the next three seasons, to play alongside Oladipo in the backcourt.

The Pacers' agreement with forward David West on a three-year, $36 million deal on Tuesday coincided with ongoing exploration of possible trades for Danny Granger and Gerald Green, league sources said. Teams have been anticipating that the Pacers would be inclined to move one or both of them, especially if they re-signed West. The Pacers, who also have reached an agreement with backup point guard C.J. Watson, have to clear future room under the tax threshold as they plan for giving long-term deals to Paul George and Lance Stephenson.

Despite the Pacers' desire to find a destination for the often-injured Granger and Green, they're finding "no market" for either player at the moment, one rival executive said.

Pistons Call Raptors About Availability Of Rudy Gay
Jul 02, 2013 6:40 PM EDT

The Detroit Pistons have called the Toronto Raptors about the availability of Rudy Gay, according to a source.

Gay was acquired by the Raptors in January from the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team trade that coincidentally included the Pistons.

Gay has two seasons remaining on his contract at over $37 million.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

OKC had to trade Harden, he wasn't taking an extension when he could get that extra year in a trade.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Pistons worse than a pregnant bitch in the club

If this Martin deal is correct then those OKC dudes plan on being cheap period. There is no excuse for letting Martin walk.

now the thunder have to start over at 6th man again and wasted a whole season of work last year

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

I wonder what cleveland going to do they need a veteran presence on that team.

Pistons are just everywhere

Suns get bledsoe dumb move.

Knicks keep signing old power forwards.

OKC is going backwards

Once Dwight signs with someone things will heat up.

clippers getting redick and dudley will help them they needed shooting in the worst way.

Grizz should add a guy like monta ellis they need offensive players

No, that's why the trade included Jeremy Lamb. It's time for him to play. If you resign Martin, you stunt his growth & waste cheap labor. I liked his game @ UConn...I think he can play. Hell coming outta college he was 10 times the defender than Martin. He sat a year, now its time to hit the floor.

So we go from Harden to Martin to Lamb.

I doubt lamb is as impressive as made out to be or not he would have played his way into rotation time last year

OKC can talk all they like but this is a trend that should give their fans some concern

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

OKC should have kept Harden and traded Westbrook and Perkins for a shitload of players and picks. The WC is open for the Spurs, Grizz, Nuggs, and Clipps to win next year.

False

They never were willing to offer him that full max extension

That was the hold up it was only going to be 4 years instead of 5 but it would have still been the max they could give

They didn't offer it cuz they didn't want to go over the cap

horrible horrible move for the Kings. Looks like Evans time in Sac is over

If Iggy leaves and Dwight leaves LA the real winners of the Dwight trade will be..............................

Orlando
