Fat Joe Sentenced To Federal Prison For Tax Evasion

at Joe will not be apart of the summer music scene this year as it is being reported that he was sentenced to four months in federal prison for tax evasion.

According to CliffViewPilot, Fat Joe (born Joseph Cartagena) admitted to evading this tax responsibilities, however blames “fancy guys in bow ties” for the mishandling of his finances.

In addition to four months in prison, Joe was slapped with a $150,000 fine and one year of supervised released once his prison term is served.

Fat Joe has reportedly failed to pay $718,038 in taxes from 2007 through 2010. He informed U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy Waldor that he will repay the entire sum.

I don't care who, every athlete/entertainer appears to go through this publicly or privately in their career.

They financial handlers have to know that you can proactively approach the IRS through how your CPA does his accounting and tell them how much you will pay them.

Been almost a decade for me. At first, I used to feel bad and then I started looking at every single receipt that I been spending on since the mid 2000's and saw that I WAS paying income tax...everytime I bought something AND THEY TAXED MY INCOME.

The time in jail is meant to be a deterrent to others that would think about not paying taxes. It's the closet thing to debtor's jail that the US has...well, that and being jailed for child support.


Just think of how many more people would attempt to cheat on taxes if the only penalty was a fine.
