texas chainsaw 2013 was actually a good flick, and i was sure it was gonna be garbage. I recommend it.

Go if you can. Its a very well written movie.

Right on, bro. Definitely gonna keep it in mind. Still wanna see Iron Man III and Fast/Furious 6 too.

It had its moments. My main gripe is that Hollywood bleeds these franchises dry. 2014 will mark the 40 year anniversary of the franchise, and they've already got Texas Chainsaw 3D 2 pegged for 2015. They'll probably be making these movies still come 10 years from now with the 50 year anniversary. Kinda like how they milk stuff like Friday the 13th, Alien, Halloween, and so on :D:lol:

Fast & Furious 6

The Avengers with hot wheels( Vin Diesel, Paul Walker,Gal Gadot , Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, , Sung Kang, and Chris Bridges) return
with assistance from Dwayne Johnson and Gina Caranoto, face off against a gang of tech warfare baddies lead by a
slippery villain named Owen Shaw (Luke Evans),with resurrected bad ass Letty(Michelle Rodriguez) caught up in the middle.

Aside from some predictable moments FF6 gets everything right i expect from this series:hot cars √,hotter women √,
death defying stunts √,dizzying car chases √,some romance √,humor √,and a couple of twists √.
Bring on part 7 which i hear begins filming in a week.

The Hangover Part III

The Hangover Part III is slightly better than part II due to some original paths the film takes, and the additional talents of
Melissa McCarthy and John Goodman. There are some funny moments but The Wolfpack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and
Zach Galifianakis) are mainly put in situations that can easily be resolved, and it mainly feels like a drawn out road trip
and toned down version of the first films joys of reckless abandon and WTF? moments.
All indications that the party is truly over.

Halfway through Beasts of the Southern Wild and enjoying it. Very good performance from Q. Wallis.

Watched Parker yesterday. We didn't think much of it. Enjoyed the 1st half hour or so, and occasional scenes here and there ... but it was formulaic (as expected). Nice to see some looks at Lopez' 40-something booty in real estate agent attire, and the panties. We were hoping for something more from Michael Chiklis. He was much more tough and menacing on The Shield as Vic Mackie, that's for sure. We were joking he was "soft as dog shit" in this movie.

Won passes for The Internship on Thursday evening. Might share those with friends or fam'.

Also won passes to NOW YOU SEE ME (also for Thursday). Gonna check that one out. They're at 2 different theater venues ^

Watched Beasts of the Southern Wild and enjoyed it.

Great performances from Q. Wallis and Dwight Henry. Found the movie effective in that the actors had plenty to work with, and their performances/emotions carried the movie (even when dialogue was light at certain points). Good mixture of pride, anguish, emotion(s) and spirituality/mythicism too. Especially moving performances when you consider Dwight Henry wasn't an actor coming into the film, and Q. Wallis (youngest nominee for Best Actress) was a little kid during filming helping carry the movie.

Barbed Wire City - ECW documentary - good shit. Only caught bits and pieces of ECW growing up, but always knew about them and followed them from afar. A good look at the behind-the-scenes with various interview snippets & action from events.

After Earth - It's really getting panned right now in reviews & by critics. A bit hard to follow and far-fetched ... not enough Will Smith, and basically a vehicle for his son (Jaden) to become an even bigger star. M. Night Shyamalan sure has taken heat over the years for most of his films after The Sixth Sense.

Iron Man 3D - Really enjoyed it. Won passes to Now You See Me ... but went and checked out Iron Man once there

I just peeped safety not gauranteed..

and I thought it was just a great well casted story...

every actor nailed their role... and I mean nailed it...

if you like them indie films... its a must watch..

Thanks for suggesting that....

hmmmmm

let me peep that texas 3d when I gets back from the dentist..

Yeah - definitely a fun little quirky indie movie. Short and to the point at around 80 - 85 minutes. Always fun to watch Aubrey Plaza too. She's always got that deadpan delivery down pretty good. One part of you thinks - "She's weird ..." ... another part says - "Yeah, she'd get it." She sometimes reminds me a bit of a mix between Olivia Munn & Mila Kunis.

That one looks good, Kane.

Watched Snitch on Sunday evening. It was better than we expected it to be. Hoping for some T&A from Nadine Velasquez again (like in Flight). Nope :D:cool:

After Earth

Six years after appearing on the big screen together in the great The Pursuit of Happyness
Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith team up again in the not so great After Earth.

After Earth is not as bad as some of the zero star reviews i skimmed over. There are some exciting
and fun moments.
For the most part to many scenes are beyond repetitive, drawn out and predictable.
I know Will Smith was portraying a stern, military father, but for 90% of the film he displays
the same scowl and pissed off look,so much so its a relief when he smiles or shows some other type of
emotion. If they ever cast a fifth or sixth Terminator film,Will is their man.
Jaden Smith fares better in his role,at least he wasnt as obnoxious as he was in The Day the Earth
Stood Still.
Im not sure who's idea was it for the characters to have odd semi-southern accents, that drop in and out

My 10 year old enjoyed After Earth far more than i did,but by the time the film reaches it's last 20 minutes
even he was hoping the film would get on with it already.

Scale of 1-10 a 6½

Agreed, JB.

The odd accents ... Will Smith being in scowl mode for the better part of the whole film ... Jaden Smith not being ready to carry a film just yet (he's no mega-talent like his dad's been for the past 25 years dating back to the late-80s), etc. One of the coolest and funniest experiences of the movie was that there was a torential downpour in town that night. The way the megaplex is designed, that theater sort of hung out over the parking lot of the mall. About 30 mins in it was pouring and you could hear the rain coming down on the roof just above the screen. That was kind of trippy, but cool

Catching up on some wrestling docs of late. All ECW content.

- Enjoyed Barbed Wire City last week
- Almost finished The Rise and Fall of ECW
- Gonna watch Forever Hardcore next week

Now You See Me

A great and likeable cast are coupled with a good and witty script, but when the film crawls through its
last 20 minutes and final twist ,i left the theatre wondering if i had been tricked or treated.
Like a fun car ride until you reach your destination.
Scale of 1-10 a 7½

Rise and Fall and Forever Hardcore are great

Thanks, bro. I enjoyed Rise and Fall and Barbed Wire City. About 1/3 the way through Forever Hardcore. They're all good in their own right. I only followed ECW briefly back in the day as I was young and there wasn't much coverage or info here in Canada (plus the internet didn't begin to really take off until a few years later) so it's cool getting behind-the-scenes looks at the organization being somewhat familiar with many of the main characters back in the day, and those who branched off to WCW & WWE thereafter.

River - When I had freebie passes to the adv' screening of Now You See Me last week ... we brought our old 3D glasses along and went to see Iron Man 3D instead - we ain't about to pay $15.99 per ticket or whatever they charge here in Canada for 3D :D

Man of Steel

Seven years after Director Bryan Singer's well meaning tribute to the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve era of Superman films
but ultimately lackluster Superman Returns, the last son of Krypton returns in Man of Steel.
Director Zack Snyder, producer Christopher Nolan, and writer David S. Goyer, breathes new life into the 75 year old story.
MOS is not only an entertaining film but a spectacular experience.
Snyder immerses the audience into Krypton like no other previous Superman film has.The power struggle, the technology, the creatures
the ships, all brought out in vivid SFX.

I wasnt blown away by any of the actor's performances in particular, but they all do solid work.Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Kal-El
has the right look, the right amount of corniness, and bravado to pull off the title roll.
Equally excellent are the actors who portray Superman's biological Kryptonian parents :Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Ayelet Zurer
as Lara Lor-Van and his adoptive parents on Earth Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent, their love and
protectiveness of their son shines through in their performances.
Amy Adams as Lois Lane has great chemistry with Cavill, and displays the right amount of curiousity and persistant nature as
the investigative reporter. Michael Shannon as General Zod is effectively intense, and the only match for his intense portrayal is
Antje Traue as the sinister Faora who is a revelation to me.
The rest of the cast Laurence Fishburne as Perry White ,Harry Lennix as Lieutenant General Swanwick, and Christopher Meloni as
Colonel Hardy make the most of their brief time on screen.
The action in MOS is so intense and relentless,i was happy for a brief family or romantic moment .The score by Hans Zimmer is soul stirring and uplifting.

Some of the characters are underdeveloped, and some quick touches could have been added to at least establish who they are. There are a couple of plot holes
/errors.MOS could have also used more humor.

MOS is a very good first step towards a new series of Superman films, and hopefully and ultimately a Justice League film

Scale of 1-10 an 8½

This Is the End

This Is the End is and insane combo of ,raunchy humor, horror and a disaster flick. The actors James Franco,Jonah Hill,Seth Rogen,Jay Baruchel
Danny McBride,Craig Robinson,Emma Watson,Michael Cera and thats only naming just about half of those that show up to spoof themselves and refer to about
a million pop culture staples, are all equally good. The film is doesnt provide non stop laughs and is repetitive at times, but its a fun ride for 75%
of its 106 minutes.

Scale of 1-10 a 7½
