Just saw Django [MERGED~> !SPOILER ALERT!]

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

But since i payed my money for that suspect movie. Does anybody know of any download links? I might as well watch it again to make sure I wasn't impressed.

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

I just saw it earlier, as far as n-bombs I have heard more in rosewood, some one said it was forced didn't seem that way to me, it was not dropped loosely but that was what they referred to us as. The back drop was great it was slavery times, but was really a western at heart, it was love, it was revenge, action, and it was a slice of what we went through as a people. it was well plotted (if that's a word forgive oh English phd's it has been a long day) I don't understand how you can worry about it being racist or dragging us down and Jamie fox whipped and killed a white guy, and shot several others, and blew that white lady out her mother fucking shoes, shot the nuts off a guy who tried to take his, and killed a blatant uncle Tom shit I figure that's something we can all get up for, QT did his thing. I think your doing yourself an injustice by not seeing it, at the end of the day far be it from me to say how you interpret a movie but honestly I saw nothing of Ill repute in this movie

^^That

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

and one of the biggest problems i had with the movie. They made the German too righteous to not have a more detailed explanation as to why.

i thought they pretty much laid it out about how he wanted to help in the real life german fairly tale

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

what was said? i forgot that fast.

he basically said the name Brumhilde came from German folklore. She was saved by hero that was willing to go over mountains, kill a dragon and walk through fire for her. He said as a German who grew up on the story he felt obligated to do his part.

atleast that was my interpreatation

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

what was said? i forgot that fast. About the broomhilda myth?

he wanted to help the male character from the german fairy tale. He was legit, he told him from the jump basically he was his assistant, in a sense his slave and he felt guilty for that but he gave him his revenge and his woman

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

Wifey and I loved that shit, it was surprisingly hilarious, and had great scenes. A plus performances from every actor involved, Leo and Sam Jax made me wanna murk their asses :lol:

Couldn't have said it better myself. In my opinion, it was one of the best damn movies I've ever seen. I especially loved the part where they made the hooded white men look incredibly stupid. That shit was classic. LOL

thats the very moment i realized, i wasn't in love with the movie. That's when it became alley oops on a 8 ft rim. I get it. I just wanted something a little more complexed. Inglorious was more complexed. Django might be comparable to the French girl . But the german bounty hunter didn't have the same logical emotional investment as the Jewish American soldiers. At best he was Hugo Stiglitz. But Hugo wasn't a central character. One of the most interesting characters to me was the slave girl calling dude Big daddy. Her even more so then kerry Washington. There just wasn't enough of THAT type of depth to me. But I thought Samuel L took his character and ran with it .

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

@ Sherminator you might want to put a spoiler alert on your post.

@ bookman you can't compare Inglourious Basterds to Djangon Unchained. :smh: No comparison really other than showing underdogs of history getting some revenge.

that's the point of both movies tho. I think they are extremely comparable. i don't see how they couldn't be.

Different characters different movie different motives and emotional investment. You say you want more complexity but what do you mean? Inglourious Basterds wasn't very complex to me. The plot was pretty straight forward trap Hitler and kill him the protagonist achieve this with minor set-backs to their goal. Same with Django they had a plan going in that was met with minor set-backs but ultimately he reached his goal. What do you mean by complex?

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

someone needs to pull Tarantino to the side and tell him the human body doesnt have that much damn water or blood in it... lol

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

Aside from various opinions, I'd see it via theater style!
Just my 2 cents, that is all...a Homey's out.

I don't think you'd know what complex was if it punched you in the fucking face..

I saw it.
I liked it.
I'll watch it again.

It wasn't a 'slave' movie.
It was a 'revenge' movie.

That 'hotbox' shit had me pissed the fuck off though.

Re: Just Got Back from Seeing Django Unchained...

Where can I get a torrent? I'll give it a look but I'm not paying.

Not surprising that they would demonize the black man even in a movie about slavery. I wouldn't doubt they found a way to make the white man appear to be a hero also. I haven't see the movie yet so I shouldn't begin too assume to much...

First off, I thought he was the most evil character. Why? Because he was a slave who was happy to be one, even to the point of selling out his own people.

Then movie gave Django a TON of power. At times it came across like Django was the master and Shultz was the slave. He treated Django like an equal, and Django didn't let any white man get over on him.

The movie demonized who they needed to demonize.

The use of the word ****** was necessary IMO. Its supposed to make you cringe. Certain events were in the film to make you realize the shit that happened was reprehensible.

He straight up slaughtered slave owners and traitorous house slaves. By killing Shultz the movie clearly stated who the hero of the film was.

Congrats, you were supposed to be pissed off. There were plenty moments that were intended to evoke that emotion, to illustrate how disgusting slavery was, to pull you out of the movie ever so slightly to say 'this story is fiction, but its setting is most definitely not'.

I also feel tarantinos use of the word ****** is intended to make you feel uncomfortable. Ever see a group of teens throwing the word around and you sit there cringing?

Its to kind of get people who use the word thinking about it. Personally I've completely stopped using it many years ago.

Yeah that's there but did you also notice the irony that he's a dentist and Candie's plantation is called candyland and his mouth is yuck as fuck? Plantation owners are rotten and decayed and need to be plucked out.

Lemme here what Tariq gotta say.

Re: Tariq Nasheed reviews 'Django Unchanged'

cliff notes?

it's a good movie...he recommends you see it... but it's not a black empowerment movie ..it maintains the white supremacy paradigm... jus kinda take it for what it is and try to enjoy it for what it is...

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

You're a weak punchline guy we can mark that one off.. So i wont argue back.. I'll just ask what is your basis for saying that.

I was simply making fun of the fact you said "complexed", which isn't a word, on top of calling the 2nd most ignorant character in the film, the most intriguing..

So expand on it. Why was Betina (The ignant slave gal with the gap) such a complex character?.. And why was the KKK scene not genius (it's actually the scene that made me fall in love with this movie from the script..) and one of the best scenes in the film?..

Re: Just saw Django [MERGED]

So the character cant be intriguing because she's uneducated? she prolly projected the realest essence of the sadness of the situation with her part. ANd all you saw was a ignorant woman? You got it bruh. we not even talkin on the same wavelengths.

And Complexed is a word kid.

Her character wasn't complex. She wasn't complicated or intricate. But I understand what your trying to say. Her attitude spoke volumes. But complex she was not.

You did everything but answer the question.. Explain what made her complex..

I also see what your saying.. So let me rephrase. What she presented in her role left a lot more freedom for interpretation, and compromising of the situation she was in for the viewer, then many other characters. Thanks for making a valid argument, and not running to pencil dick net tactics like that other herb
