Fox Orders 13-Episode 5th Season of FRINGE!!

'Fringe' scoop: Singer/actress Jill Scott set to visit the Fox sci-fi saga as...

Jill-Scott.jpg

The future-flung heroes of Fringe, currently busy saving humanity from folically-challenged time travelers with noodle-baking psychic powers, are about to meet another kind of mentalist — and we’re not talking Patrick Jane or Sherlock Holmes. EW.com has learned that the producers of the soon-to-end Fox drama have cast singer-actress-poet Jill Scott in the role of Simone, described as “an incredibly intuitive woman, an oracle-like person.”

Look for Olivia (Anna Torv) to seek Simone’s assistance during an early season episode… in which the cortexiphan-juiced chosen one will eat a cookie and ponder that timeless truth: There is no spoon. (Oracle. Cookies. Spoon. It’s a Matrix joke, people! C’mon!)

Scott has heat. The Grammy-winning singer will soon be seen in Lifetime’s remake of Steel Magnolias with Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad and Alfre Woodard. (The TV movie premieres Oct. 7.) She’s also shooting the forthcoming Fox Searchlight romantic comedy Baggage Claim starring Paula Patton and Derek Luke, and she’s been cast in Woody Allen’s next film. Her previous acting credits include The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency and Why Did I Get Married?

Fringe fans, what do you think of the casting? Does it get your theory-senses tingling? Will Simone help reality-leaping Olivia go Full Neo?

peace

Had to think about it good last night as it set in.

Imagine truly having the opportunity to kick it with, let alone survive in the future with your grown, developed adult seed who's 10 yrs or less age difference than you
when a few months earlier
they were just a pre schooler,
no matter for what time pd.

They didnt slip 'Simone' in past us yet?

The new intro, the visuals under the words, is type sick:cool:

peace

Well...
I guess I can't say much for peeps that didn't watch the latest episode.

But after what happened last night,
I like the fact that now after all the running and trying to save the world, The Team's mission is now sparked more by a sense of revenge/vengeance.

Especially Peter.

I don't like that Walter got back his memories and went back to old Walter yet they still have him acting like a Idiot, yes I know he lost some memory during the interrogation but that shouldn't that changed his personality. I'm guessing they figured people would like goofy Walter over serious Walter why they are trying to ignore it ever happened.

the drugs aint help fam:D

 its bullshit though, dude hasnt even had the chip in his neck a week yet he is beating a observer with more experience and understanding of their capabilities, I'm going to give Peter the benefit of the doubt and say he caught the Observer off guard. Also wtf happened to all the abilities Olivia had? They are ignoring it like they want us to forget all about the Cortexifan experiments. For the last season with such a few eps the series is moving too slow and I hope they don't just shove everything in the season finale, also I hope we get to see the Observer homeworld

you remember peter wad telling that observer he was interrorgating that if he had the tech they had he would be punishing things, and he's pretty much a genius in his own right so I can kinda understand if he caught on fast

:yes::yes:

and remember ALL the Observers since the beginning were kinda afraid of Peter saying how important and influential he was...

maybe it wasn't JUST the machine but to EVERYTHING

And where would I see that pic? I watch the episodes as they air, I dont go search google and shit to see what the next episode will be about because I have patience and can wait a week to see what will happen

I've been telling peeps barely after the season started, my theory that Mr. September is/was in fact Peter Bishop, coming from the future to warn the FRINGE team about The Observers and their plans for invasion.

It was with September's constant contact with Olivia last season that I came to this theory.

My other early theory is that with Peter being a catalyst for major events of the last few seasons, that he would become an Observer himself. I was on the ball with that one.

Joshua Jackson been excellent these last few episodes as he gains the mannerisms and personality of The Observers. Dude's performance of Peter losing his humanity has been poignant and frightening.

It was September that fucked up that caused most of the shit to be happened right now, so I doubt it. Remember Walternet was about to find a cure to Peter but September fucked up and distract him so he he missed it which is then when Walter who was watching through his screen decided to to cross demensions and save Peter. There is nothing that would have had us believing Peter would have turned into a Observer besides speculation, what we knew is that his child would have been important and that was one of the reasons for his importance. This whole season was rushed and we probably wont get full answers till the season finale, I just hope in the end Peter doesn't go God mode and is able to create his own demension where everyone is happy and shit

More screen time for...
Is anyone else watching the new J.J. Abrams show Fringe on Fox? (Minor spoilers ahead.)

I’m pretty hooked on it, and it has officially replaced Heroes on my Tivo season pass manager (sorry, but their desperate ploy to bring annoying-ass Ali Larter back as yet another character just put me over the edge — I’m totally done with that show).

Meet Jasika Nicole, who plays Agent Astrid Farnsworth on the show. Although if they didn’t give her a title you might mistake her for a low-level intern, as all she seems to do is hover around in the Dr. Bishop’s lab acting as his personal gopher.

She’s so underutilized it’s almost comical. On the first two episodes I think they had to introduce her to other characters multiple times just so we were reminded of her name.

And on the latest episode I’m not sure if she got to talk at all. Instead, she gets injected in the neck with a tranquilizer, and when Dr. Bishop later apologize to her for doing that, she (of course) gives him the silent treatment so again – no lines.

I think it could become a new drinking game: take a swig every time Jasika Nicole is on screen and doesn’t get to talk.
