HACKENSACK — An appeals court has upheld the murder conviction and 75-year sentence given to Harlem rapper "Max B" for his role in a deadly 2006 robbery at a Fort Lee hotel.
The rapper, whose real name is Charly Wingate, had argued that the Bergen County Superior Court judge who tried his case had erred by not granting a request to separate it from that of his accomplice, Kelvin Leerdam.
Wingate, now 34, was convicted in 2009 after a jury found that he had dispatched Leerdam, his stepbrother, and his girlfriend Gina Conway to a Holiday Inn on Route 4 to rob two men, Allan Plowden and David Taylor.
During the attempted robbery, Leerdam shot Taylor, killing him.

Great read!!! This put of a lot of things into perspective. Sounds as if the writer is implying that the bouncer at the Sin City strip club that Gina was dating could possibly be a suspect in this, seeing as how Gina took him the stolen property after the robbery and the fact that Jay couldn't identify Kelvin as the shooter in the pics.

i still haven't heard his music but this dude didn't do anything at all to be in jail

Yeah that was pretty good story. I have never gave a shit about who Max B was before reading this. Having priors fucked him up in this instance. If he had a mill or 2 , a good legal defense "crew" probably could have beat this case. But having priors for robbery started him off behind the 8-ball.
Max b got railroaded by association & a prior criminal history. That makes allegations of another robbery plot more feasible to the square ass people sitting in the jury box.
And Plowden & Taylor were some trick ass bitches. Had 2 seperate crews trying to lick these muthafuckaz. Smart enough to scam the money but no sense enough to stay away from the wolfpack. A scam artist that was pretending to be a gangsta. Riding hard & flashing cash to strippers. It was only a matter of time for them.

That's why I've always felt the court of law was a scam in and of itself. (Word to Santos Bonacci who can break down the court system and it's origins to a T). But yeah just the fact that a persons word can be used as hard evidence because they put their hand on a fuckin book has always smelled like bullshit to me.
