Those two things are questionable and a matter of preference. I hated the vehicle physics in GTA4. I like how when you're running around in the streets on Sleeping Dogs you actually bump into and stumble through crowds of people like in Assassin's Creed. GTA never had that shit. The cover system is better than GTA. The fighting is better than GTA. So I can agree some some of what Devilstrider is saying. Keep in mind this game was cancelled over a year ago when it was True Crime: Hong Kong and now it's one of the best sandbox games of the past year. And let me add this, Red Dead Redemption was a better game than GTA IV too, as was Saints Row 2. GTA is overrated nowadays and until they go back to the formula they used to create San Andreas I don't see it getting better.

I swear to god!!!!! there are just different kind of gamers.. I love multiplayer. Most games I don't really care for the storylines. It has to be really really good too keep my attention. Hell, I havent even beat mass effect 2 for example. Maybe its the ADD, shit has to really stimulate my cranial or carnal to keep me playing. These kind of games like SD seem utterly pointless after u beat it without multiplayer. It's like walking around NYC but you're the only real person and everyones else is just an FUCKING ANDROID. Thats how it feels to me. I actually thrive off multiplayer gaming. I push myself harder to fight because the "intelligence" I am encountering is not Artificial it's real!


I see guys like you on the SR and GTA forums and I'm always genuenly dumbfounded like I don't live in the real world alone so why would I want to play a game with a big ass city all alone? I think it's about personality types. My homie that deeply hates multiplayer is not what one would call a "people" person or "social butterfly" he's always been kind of miserable around crowds , but I am somewhat of an extrovert I don't mind being around most people.. Some of you cats I think have social anxiety disorders or Aspergers when it comes to online gaming . Seriously tho I think personality type is reflected in our individual gaming interest. Now I'm not saying MMO, because thats even too social for my tastes, but a good amount of REAL people in a populated city really really appeals to me.

But too many games are tacking on a multiplayer mode to cash in on having a shorter, subpar campaign mode. And you say you need intelligent storylines to keep you interested, right? Yet in the same instance you basically said that Mass Effect 2's story didn't hold your interest. WOW! Just admit that you're the other side that prefers multiplayer over storylines because I've never heard anyone say that shit about Mass Effect. People like me like a good storyline that we can play a part of. People like me don't always want to have to deal with the fuckery that comes with trying to play a game with other people we don't even know. Team Bondi used to go by the name Psygnosis back in the PSOne days. They made those Destruction Derby games and some other stuff. People give Rockstar credit for other people's creations. RESEARCH! Knowning who developed a game, not published, is very important. It can even save you money. People ran out and bought that shit assed Resident Evil: Raccoon City game months ago because they saw the namebrand and a Capcom label. They didn't even pay attention to the fact that Slant Six was the developer name on the box. SLant Six...creators of SOCOM: Confrontation...one of the shittiest SOCOM games ever and Capcom commissions them to develop that game. Those who pay attention to shit like that steered clear and saved their $$$. People for some reason think that EA made Mass Effect 3 and not Bioware. Same foolishness. Yeah, I hate that EA owns Bioware now but I hoped they'd leave them to their own devices like they do with DICE. Another rant...sorry.

I just want to chime in on this. I'm not a fan of Online gaming due to cheat and overall assaholic tendencies of people at large and don't get me started with lagging. What I really don't like about it is that developers spend to much time trying to implement a online feature into a game when they should be focusing on polishing the main game.

Just ordered it after reading this thead, I wasn't going to get another game till Medal of Honor because I'm finding out that I don't play campaigns just usually jump into Multiplayer mode...I bought Max Payne the day it came out and still haven't played the story mode, I didn't like the multi so it's just sitting there, bought Ghost Recon, the multi sucked I traded it in, didn't even play the story mode...this looks good tho, I have completed every single GTA so I should enjoy this even without the multiplayer option.

That's what I did, went straight to multi with Max Payne! Maybe about 2 weeks later I played the story but only for like 2 hours, if that. Now I do like to play the Call of duty campaigns all the way through first. Another thing I forgot to mention is I only buy like 3 to 5 games a year, so I need what I do get to last for a while and multi helps out with that a lot. Thats a whole other aspect to consider in the debate. Im not as hardcore as other cats.

Yes it is, but the X-factor is multiplayer, which unfortunately sleeping dogs does not have. I whined and moaned on the SR forum last year and I just whined and moaned on the SD forum the past two days about lack of multiplayer.. Hong Kong is nicer and slightly bigger than I had excepted in SD, hopefully they could implement a multiplayer DLC? I hope and pray. Such a nice map will going to waste without 16 player free roam, competitive, and races and shit.
