Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Setting

You think they serious or they bullshittin'?

"He has a lot of the same characteristics of a Captain America: great character, good values... But it's a little more difficult, maybe, creating [a world like Wakanda]. It's always easier basing it here. For instance, 'Iron Man 3' is rooted right here in Los Angeles and New York. When you bring in other worlds, you're always faced with those difficulties."

You can Create Asgard for Thor
You can go film in Europe for Captain America
You can Create The Cosmos for Guardians of the Galaxy

But you can't create AFRICA?

Bullshit excuse....

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

So you think they really making a Black Panther film?

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

Good question, 1 thing is for certain though, movies that put African people in a positive spotlight are always push/put down, but once it promotes their 'Blue Eyed' heroes it will get all the shine in the world! Me I'm totally fed up of Hollywood and their schemes, its getting to the point now where you can see all the smoke and mirrors!

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

been sayin since Wesley was tryin to do it that there will NEVER be an accurate, faithful portrayal of BLACK PANTHER on big screen. NEVER. This the best bullshit they can come up with? They can't create Wakanda??????????? GTFOH wit that bullshit!!!!!!!!!

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

Uh...avatar?

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

What he meant to say is. It is difficult to create wakanda on the little ass budget they would be sure to get for working on a black movie.

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

marvel doesn't want to spend money on a black action movie because it won't make money internationally. its going to cost at least 100 million to produce and another 50 mill to promote. do you think disney going to take that kind of risk after john carter?

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

I've heard to mile high bullshit in my lifetime, but this has be way up there.

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

peace

The only benefit of the doubt I'll throw to these CACs is that their simple ass aren't willing to depict certain civilizations in the Motherland as more advanced than anything the Stark family has ever created.

They'd have to build an entire secret kingdom fully of advanced technology. thinking with skilled scholars & superbly gifted Black folk controlling & ruling their own destinies in a place where they SUCCESSFULLY PROTECT ALL of their most precious resources, THEN sell it as an Int'l brand & product, going into worldwide markets & making sure it translates successfully.

They may be hesitant to try & do this on a worldwide scale thinking that they will lose money by not selling the blond blue eyed hero which always translate into successful ventures.

Some ole BruceLee shit b4 he went home & got the love from his people when the US was giving him shit & when him & his family were dead broke.
What he meant to say is. It is difficult to create wakanda on the little ass budget they would be sure to get for working on a black movie.

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

...is this bastard saying creating a film world where an unconquerable African country has advanced technology and a 'superior' social structure is harder than creating the completely fictional Asgard or multiple spacefaring cultures (Guardians of the Galaxy)...?

I really don't know why people here are surprised and upset about this "attitude".

For all we know, maybe MARVEL has plans for The Black Panther they don't care to reveal.

Or maybe they truly don't see it feasible to push a project of this level for a Black character.

If that's the case, why bother crying about it?
It's too close to begging for me.
That's why the comics are there to be read.

There's tons of comic characters out that will never see the light of day on the Big Screen.

And most of them are WHITE.

Blade 1 and Blade 2?

They don't want to make the movie because it's:

1. An African hero (white people don't want to see African anything winning)

2. Political climate, too many whites associate "Black Panther" as a racist group on par with the Klan. Whites outside of comics will jump to the conclusion that "Black Panther" is "Black Panthers political action group". They feel the controversy isn't worth it.

So basically it's fuck you Negro's, fuck out of here we ain't doing it unless he's a minor character in a cartoon or comic book destined to be canceled.

Bottom line is, Black Hollywood (Including Tyler Perry) needs to step the fuck up and produce black properties.

Key word "black movie"

But the cartoon has open him up and now the world has embrace him!

They might need to bring him and the antman together. So it want be a black movie.Marvel want to do him some justice, but black movies haven't fail well this year. But captain america is going to get his ass kick and he is from africa!
That might be a tough pill for Hollywood to swallow. But you have 2 hulk movies and the both was some shit, but you can't give the panther his due. That's going to look bad on marvel!

White people know they are full of shit when they consider any black protagonist a "black movie"...When I saw the Avengers,I didnt consider it a white movie but some how when the main character is black, they considered it a black movie...:smh::smh::smh:

"THE BLACK PANTHER" started in "THE FANTASTIC FOUR" first Dude.

If you're that rabid about it, maybe you should go after 20th CENTURY FOX because they own the rights to the FF and maybe would be more open to your suggestion. Have that studio get the rights to "THE BLACK PANTHER", as they're about to start their "FF" reboot.

That's if you want to get technical about it.

Not everything has to be a "movement".

Hell.
I was beyond happy when "BLADE" hit the big screen. And it was mostly WHITE Goth kids and true comic book geeks that helped that film take off.

And let's be real...
YOU and others here are going to be copping tix for EVERY MARVEL film that comes out within the next five years anyway. Regardless of a Black Panther film or not.

So spare me that "you're something else man" bullshit.

blade 1 and 2 were action movies with a black star in it. they were promoted as action films. blade didn't cost alot of money to produce and made a crapload of money. good enough to make two sequels.

I'm starting to wonder about you! Not sure you have an ounce of harlem coursing thru. Also, curious how do you associate what I said, with or without knowledge of B.P. dealing with FF? I simply used the word "TEAM." What does not purchasing a ticket for future Marvel movies have to do with this thread?

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

i think if they made another blade and do it right it would be succescful. blade was the reason why they started these marvel movies which led xmen and spiderman to do so well.

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

Why do you guys(meaning those who want a BP movie) Never seem to understand that white people don't want to show a black superhero that rivals their white power chauvinist fantasies? How many times do those of us who keep explaining racism to you have to do it before it STICKS?

What he meant to say is. It is difficult to create wakanda on the little ass budget they would be sure to get for working on a black movie.

Read between the lines folks. There you have it.

Whites do not want to see it. They didn't want to see Red Tails. They don't want to see Black Panther. The barely saw Hancock. And he was the only black man in the damn movie! What do you think they'll do with a black superhero movie? Honestly. Cmon ya'll.

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

One day you will all realize that what you are living/experiencing is genocide......really slow hate and genocide. till then ,keep getting your feelings hurt.

fucking cracka ass hollywood. they like "you niggas got your black panther in the whitehouse, you aint getting shit from us". :hmm:

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

If money is a concern, Have Will Smith to star as Black Panther.........that will big the masses to watch this movie internationally.

Blade had 2 black people in it. And was in a city. You're not making a Wakanda with 40 million dollars. I do NOT WANT them to make a BP movie. Because they will absolutely fuck it UP. They're going to have him in New York. And just try to LOWER him down. I'm fucking TELLING YOU. That's what they're going to do. Mark my fucking words. They are not going to show a POWERFUL BLACK MAN, IN A POWERFUL BLACK AFRICAN NATION. Ruling over other BLACKS. Not going to do it.

You can continue to wonder for all I care.
I'm in my late-40s
So I don't have to prove shit to anyone here.

This shit isn't even a big deal to me.
I was just making some points.
And some of you got all emotional about it.

Of course others on "the team" had a chance to shine.
HELLO?
They had build-up films to that point.
In The Black Widow's case, she just happened to be in one the the major character's films. And got into "THE AVENGERS" because she was female. And you can't have a Joss Whedon film without female characters. Though I would have preferred The Wasp.

"THE BLACK PANTHER" is just a comic book character to me.
The BEST run being Christopher Priest's extraordinary work.
No sweat to me if a film doesn't get made.
I can read Priest' run over and over again and I'm happy.

The thing on future film tix...
If you and others are so upset about Louis D'Esposito claims,
Write the fucker then and let him know there's an audience out there for a "BLACK PANTHER" film.
And that his "excuse" doesn't wash.
It's not like he's on here reading this shit, is he?

And if that doesn't suffice,
Just boycott all future MARVEL film endeavors.
Hell. Boycott their comics until they get the point.

That's if you're upset and passionate as you and others claim to be.

Hell.

DISNEY probably got MARVEL running scared after "JOHN CARTER" for all we know. And you know how DISNEY is these days after that debacle.

I would love to see a "BLACK PANTHER" film.
But it just isn't a social issue for me.

marvel will probably do a compromise and add him in one of their movies like captain america 3 or avengers 3 or the fantastic four remake. they can add him without spending all that money.

yeah he bullshitting.
what he really wants to say is that they have concerns around the financial viability of a film based on a technologically advanced african nation and its king.

just call a spade a spade

Re: Marvel Boss Talks 'Black Panther' Movie, Says It's Difficult To Create World, Set

I'm hoping they introduce him through another film first, rather than go straight into his own film. They WILL NOT handle him right otherwise (for reasons stated before, budget, race issues, etc).

If they introduce him good enough in another film, hopefully he'll get enough public interest to warrant them doing his movie properly. This is the only way I can see it happening, otherwise he's just 'Captain Africa' to the masses, and white people don't want that.
