~--~Official 2012 NBA Draft/Offseason Thread~--~

Heat are gonna take a wing.

I think the fact that they saw how much better they played going small with Bosh at the 5 and Lebron/Battier at the 4, and they probably see more value at the wing.

Is it really worth drafting another Dex Pittman type of stiff just to say you drafted a big man?

Look out for Jeff Taylor if he is still there at 27.

A wing who can shoot should be easier to find on the free agent market than a center.

Not a big fan of Fab Melo.

Cool name, though.

It's looking like Miami will be forced to draft Festus Ezili.

i disagree, i think he knows how to use it..he's been using it.

he needs time and desire.
That shit wont work on the next level man. Ad all the time and desire in the world wont help him in the areas of quickness or height. If he takes that trash Big 10 trash game to the league he's gonna be rendered useless.

With @WojYahooNBA reporting that Fab Melo is going to Boston, expect Miami to go smaller now.

Draymond Green and Jeffrey Taylor both fit the profile of "play-now" prospects for Heat: four-year college players, good programs.

What's up with Melo that pisses you off... :dunno:

faggot cost us a run at kentucky

1st im getting all this alumni mail saying he is going to be the next D.C during his freshman

then his sophmore year he gets banned from the tourney when we were ranked #1 in the country for most of the year

fuck that niggah

we lost because his bitch ass couldnt read

I'd also argue that it's much more likely to get a solid contributer at basically every single other position other than Center when you are drafting 27.

What was the last solid center that was drafted 27 or later?

Are Fab Melo and Festus Ezeli really quality big men?

No good team drafts solely for need this late in the draft...it's not smart and you will potentially miss out on a good player that can help somewhere else.

Good point.

All you need them to do is fill a specific role which is to rebound and block shots. Scoring is covered and so is ball handling.

Fab will be a quality big man...like Hibbert from the Pacers(Gtown)

but he needs a lot of work

he only went pro since he's stupid

he wouldve been a top 10 pick if he couldve played the entire 4 years he needs to develop

Exactly.

Draymond Green would actually be a good pick for the Heat. I know he is undersized, but he fits in perfectly with Riley's love for very versatile guys who can do many things well.

Green is a very good rebounder for his size, can handle well for his size as well as a solid shooter and passer. And they probably can hide him on defense.

I'm waiting on Stern to come out and announce a trade involving Evan Fournier or to come out and say that he was just joking or something.

man he knows english....

plus they take bullshit classes and he couldnt even pass those

trust me, i took them there

you just have to show up

this nigga is an idiot...period!

Memphis can really go any direction here.

I'm thinking Taylor, in case they do end up moving Rudy.

Moultrie is also a possibility to fill the void left by Arthur last season. He may not be the same player anymore.

Those are skills that most bigs this late in the draft can't do without fouling...see Pittman. It's easy to say that's all they have to do, but if it were that easy, most teams wouldn't have needs at the 5 spot.

Ezeli is Pittman/Anthony version 2...bad hands, mediocre rebounder, ok shot blocker but nothing special.

Not debating that, but Melo never was really thought to be an option that late for the Heat anyway. No other C is worth a damn in this draft.
