Most Disappointing Movie Endings

Why is it disappointing though? There was so much duplicity on both sides and all the rats got exposed and merked. The cops in Nicholson's gang, the goons in the pd, and Nicholson himself the biggest rat of them all. Mark Wahlbergs character found out Matt Damon was the rat in the unit all along that got Leo character killed and Mark took him out.

That tied up the loose ends for me. :dunno:

Departed still one of my favorite movies to this day.

Now I understand what some peoples gripe about Spike's movie ending are. I've heard this before about Spike but when I inquired about more no one could vocalize it. Now I gotta go back and watch all his movies. Any films in particular?

And I wanted to punch M.Knight dead in the jaw for the ending of The Village and Lady In the Water. :smh:

The following movies just end
1. School Daze
2. Do The Right Thing

I would include "Jungle Fever" and "Mo Betta Blues", but they have an ending albeit an all too convenient one.

Heat & Law Abiding Citizen...

In both cases you had guys that were clearly smarter than everyone else in the movie taken out simply by dudes that weren't on their level. Such bullshit.

 The dvd extra for law abiding citizen they only had a illustration of what the original ending was suppose to be. They actually had clyde getting away with killing all those people and finally killing nick rice and the two detectives that figured him out.

I was pissed that dude's dad in the Chronicle didn't get the proper beatdown he so richly deserved.

can someone make a gif of the ending of this clip for the "Crying in the car" sports diss

Also I looked the movie up... Got Damn that is a horrible ending. Lesson of course is don't try to turn a ho into a housewife, they wont act right,

Also School Daze
Higher learning
and
Drive

And here it is

It was going pretty good as a horror movie but the ending tried to hard to be clever and killed it for me.

Its sounding like that some of BGOl doesnt like endings that dont end happily or wrap up nicely like a sitcom. Heat is one of the best endings because it shows what happens if we dont abide by our own rules. Inception was open to your interpretation and was the point of the movie, does it matter if it is a dream if its what you want? To it matters if its done well, the story will determine the endings worth.

Matchstick Men

220px-Matchstick_Men.jpg

bullshit ending to a very very good film...

if they had stuck to their guns and just ended it right after the con was revealed and DONE...

could have been a classic...

but that tacked on hallmark card garbage to please the mouth=breathers ruined it:angry:

When I read the other ending they had in mind I wish they would have shot that instead.

What was it

During various interactive Q&As for the film, Smith has stated that the original ending actually continued through with the trumpets signaling the Rapture. After Cooper tells Keenan to shoot him, Cooper's chest explodes, followed by the remaining family members' chests exploding one by one, and then the remaining agents' chests exploding one by one. During these deaths, the ground shakes and splits, and Keenan curls up on the ground and closes his eyes. When he opens his eyes he sees the last agent killed with a giant sword coming out of his chest, which is being wielded by an enormous armored angel. The angel looks at Keenan, puts a finger to his lips, and says "shhhhh". The angel then flies off into the sky, and as the angel banks out of the picture the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse descend.[10]

HANNA was a good flick... u gotta remember who made it.... focus feature films... they do films with an artsy style to it... trailer had you thinking it was an action spy flick (and it was) but it also got hipster artsy especially towards the end....

they should have shot that ending.... probably too long to shoot, but thats the ending it deserved.... dude had everything planned out to the second yet jamie could figure it out that quick.... ha! didnt dude buy the property under his own name??? weak plot hole

worst ending ever!!! this was a pretty good flick.... but i still dont understand the ending.... i get what they were trying to do but even still there were too many holes to pull it off.... they either made it up last minute or edited the movie wrong cuz.... how did the bitch drive two cars??? maybe i should watch it again....???!!!?!?!?!

the UK version..the US one they cut it off where she imagines seeing the asian-looking chick in the car w/ her
The UK version had more "finality" to it. The U.S. version ending was what they used to make Descent 2.

But I do agree with what you said.

"High Tension" was a great film all the way up to the "big reveal". After that, it was a mess:smh:

eeeh The Descent was not trash though, it was fire up until the end.

A lot of people were surprised by how good the movie was. Way better than expected.

Just so you know the Descent got a 7.3 rating on IMDB and a 84% rating on Rottentomatoes.

I thought The Descent was pretty good too. The 2nd part went str8 to dvd...I have not seen it yet.

Someone spoke on it earlier, cannot find post but The Grey...I just saw that yesterday...I wanted to give RedBox that dvd back just as quick as I ejected it too...not even gonna rip it..IMO they could have had a more dramatic ending than leaving us like that...won't spoil it for those about to rent it this weekend tho...but decent up til the end.

A big problem with American audiences of the past twenty years is that everything has to be packaged neatly because we are too lazy to think.

I totally agree with this. It seems that movie studios- and I say that because I've watched dozens of director commentaries where the ending was supposed to be X,Y,Z.... and the studio execs came in and made them change it- so that they could put a neat little bow and tie up all loose ends.

people seem to want the shit explained them, have a big huge climatic ending and either the good guy or the bad guy has to "win". Often times someone (a Director) will put something (a film) out there and make his statement without beating you over the head with it- or just invite interpretation on the viewer's part.

but to answer the O.P's question;

Matrix Revolutions-

Indy 4-

I prefer an inconclusive ending to a dumb or stupid one that wraps up everything, because at least, to some degree- I can decide for myself what happened rather than being faced with something so stupid.

- and the ending of Shutter Island was brilliant to me.

and that Last American Virgin clip;

The James Ingram song kicked in ***PERFECTLY**** I'm in tears over that shit!!!

I think he bought the properties under a company name. The way nick found the specific details was his assistant boyfriend(who never made an on screen appearance) emailed nick some classified documents that revealed how much clyde paid for the properties and the addresses.

The mist's ending had me cracking up

That ending was great. One of those endings where I actually felt bad for a character.

1. School Daze
2. Do The Right Thing

That's how they should end. Life doesn't tie up in a neat bow.

I was enjoying it but that ending killed it. I even bought it on dvd (my wife loved it) and in re-watching, the ending was still fucked up.

:smh: Often, if they have a different ending already shot, it's on the dvd release and it's usually better than the theaterical version. If not better, it suits the movie better. Studios and audiences seem to hate dark endings like with "The Descent".

eeeh The Descent was not trash though, it was fire up until the end.

I liked the ending fine but the original ending was better and far more tragic.

That movie ended horribly to me! They didn't bring any closure to ANYTHING. It was almost like they ran out of $ and just wrapped the film.

"No Country for Old Men" I don't mind that the bad guy with the bad hair got away, but they killed the main character off camera.

They did that to show that there really were no main characters...none of them were above the theme...I think it's one of the most powerful films released...I love it because its exactly like the book and message is clear

:hmm:

lol Ben we always go at it on these movies, I'm telling you that movie was not bullshit...if you haven't read the book, read it! I don't call too many movies masterpieces, but to me, it was a masterpiece..that's my opinion

Drive. That shit had me intrigued and all, but when homie killed dude at the end and didn't take the money...:confused:

lets keep it to movies you expect to be good

that looks like trash

The Decent was pretty good. UNTIL the story turned into some petty bitch shit. You're fighting for your lives with your best friend, but then you let her get killed off because you found out she was fucking your husband
