Andrew Bynum's Behavior in Serious Question

Throughout his entire NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, All-Star center Andrew Bynum has been dealing with injury problems and maturity issues. Fortunately, the injury problems with his knees have subsided this season and haven’t been a huge concern with Bynum getting on the floor and playing on a high level every night for the Lakers. Despite the lack of injury concerns, Bynum is starting to rub some people the wrong way in Los Angeles with his erratic behavior on and off the court.

It is no secret that Lakers head coach Mike Brown was furious about the recent ill-advised three-pointer that Andrew Bynum jacked up in transition against the Golden State Warriors. As a result of the bonehead play by the 24-year-old, Brown immediately decided to pull him to teach the young kid a lesson.

Reportedly, the three-point attempt against the Warriors wasn’t the first thing to set off Mike Brown and his coaching staff as the up-and-coming center has been a problem for quite some time according to Elliot Teaford of DailyBreeze.com:

Bynum’s shot was the latest in a catalogue of items that have annoyed Brown, his staff, the players and team management over the past few weeks. Brown had seen enough and decided to sit the 7-footer for all but 5minutes, 17 seconds of the second half.

The 24-year-old Bynum has played loud music in the Lakers’ locker room, which has been frowned upon over the years. He also has been disrespectful to members of the coaching staff and to his teammates for about the past three weeks.

Obviously, at 24-years-old there are going to be maturity problems and head-butting with authority figures. That’s just the way it is growing up and trying to figure out things. Bynum on the other hand is in a different situation being a multi-millionaire and a rising star in the NBA. There is no excuse for his behavior and attitude, but it will take some time to get a kid in line when he has been told he is the greatest thing since sliced bread his entire life.

It remains to be seen whether or not Andrew Bynum can become a the kind of player that the Los Angeles Lakers organization has been hoping for, but in the meantime it looks like a rough road ahead for those trying to mold this kid into the future of the franchise.

I'm going to paraphrase the words of Charles Barkley when he was ask about Bynum's behavior lately.

Bynum right now for the first time in his career is not only the second most important Laker but he is there future. He know he is valuable and from recent comments he is going to remind them.

The problem here is Bynum's is Jim's guy as Mike Brown is as well. Interesting to see how this plays out

I can't believe the niggas only 24. Seems like he's been in the league for at least 10 years.

haha

The kid is feeling himself. The sad part is that Mike Brown has done more for his touches and production this season than Phil Jackson

These straight to the NBA kids :smh:

Can you build a team around Andrew?

Honestly I think he's going to be traded, the biggest obstacle is him staying healthy. If he proves that this year, I can't see him being with us over two years.

Can you blame he went from trade bait to best big man not name Dwight.

The Lakers pick up his option but you better believe this guy is going to free agency or the Lakers will break the bank on him.

He knows the Lakers need him now.

Before Kobe was telling Bynum he would "have to fall in line." Now it's "Bynum is a key cog of our offense."

thats the thing

He has shown one season where he is reasonably healthy and productive and is acting like he owns the place

True talk. And there is no leader or veteran on the team to talk to him. Fisher's gone. Brian Shaw no longer there. :smh:

I mean will he even listen to Kobe :smh:

He better go and have a talk with DISSSS ninja right here!!!

recent reports were him and Fisher had words in the locker room. Though he and Ramon Sessions have hit it off according to the Lakers insiders.

Bynum is set to hit free agency the same year as Dwight. this will be interesting

Still he has to show the league long term health if he wants that large payday.

HE already has rings too so you know he will be about money foremost

This is some bullshit and I am ticked that there is no leader in that locker room. :smh:

You know, whenever I read a b-ball post, I always check the OP to see if it's Killa's work!:lol:

This could be his 2004 season similar to Kobe's...notice his behavior didn't become a big issue until after all those ricidulous shooting efforts by KB24, I think this is his way forcing a decision & Kobe's tunes sure have changed. With this new CBA, the Lakers will have to change. They can't exist with Kobe making all that money...I think Bynum realizes that & is drawing his line in the sand.

great point

bynum needs to sit his ass down somewhere
he's a good big man and his game IS STILL RAW he's getting there he finally learned the moves kareem taught him but he has no flexibility with them. no moves on the fly type shit its like if he does his move and it doesn't work that shot is still going up.
the off the court shit needs to be fixed, he doesn't need to be neutered but nobody needs to be acting like that.
HOWEVER
i can't really be upset with bynum for being this way all of his nba life he has been mentored and tutored on how to carry himself by a certain player so the lakers need to thank him for teaching him how to conduct himself on and off the court

Yep. People don't realize that one of the main reasons for LA's recent success is how they've been grossly over the cap but willing to pay the tax...new CBA doesn't allow that..

Funny how I was saying this shit at the beginning of the season...Bynum is pulling a Kobe on Kobe..the same way Kobe pulled that shit on Shaq...Aging Veteran....young star who wants his own team........ sound familiar?

I made that thread months ago......

history only repeats itself

I knew dude was going to start feeling himself after he made the all star team... he's been saying that was a goal of his for the last several years.

He might try to catch a rape charge just to see if he can beat it :smh:

Quiet as kept, Kobe is going to have to renegotiate his contract for any team he is on to be competitive in the coming years...

I mentioned this when people were upset at Kobe for him saying he Andrew reminds him of himself when he was younger.

It was the truth, the only difference is his attitude towards Andrew isn't like Shaq's. As Kobe got better Shaq's disdain grew.

Kobe's tuned has changed, because Bynum is better.

How can you trust a teammate who would miss a third of the season and playing limited minutes another twenty?

With the new CBA and the way it's structured he can either stay with the Lakers or give up tens of millions of dollars to go somewhere else and unlike Dwight he isn't making that money up in endorsements.

Andrew's been in the league 7 years, it's too late to talk about him being 24 and equating that to his immaturity. Dude's just immature and on that bullshit, it's just him and his personality.
