You can roll solo, it is dangerous, there are theives, but there are many police with M-16's and shotguns protecting the tourists all day. They ride up and down the main street in Sosua, "Pedro San Clemente" is the name of the street.

Thieves get publicly beaten to near death when robbing people but I do not want to take chances. Really depends on the type of person you are. The first time I went, rolled 15 dudes deep, took over the hotel. Second time 4 of us went. I need someone with english american humor to roll with for all that time. But if you a soloist, then many have done it. You will find many other tourists there.
