Re: WTF!?! A movie about an love affair between a black Father and his son!? Ridiculo
You read what you want to read, so let me put it in bold letters.
This isn't about the gay shit, this is about black folk dropping a realistic dark drama with complex characters that ain't hood related.
So let's look at this honor roll you created and see if it passes the sniff test.
Under One Roof
Comedy. Hood related.
Comedy/drama. Lame story lines. One dimensional characters. Nothing risky here.
Treme
Ehh....... Half of the main characters are white. It's more documentary type, kinda hood based. But OK, I'll let you have that.
Platinum
The hood, hip-hop. C'mon son. I bet you can't remember one scene from that bullshit.
Soul Food
Here we go.
All black cast. Surburban setting, not hood related. 'Drama'.
Soul Food absolutely sucks but crack stinky ass.
No complexities. No gripping storylines. The scenes sucked dick. The acting was brutal.
I recently downloaded the entire series and reminded myself of why I stopped watching it in the first place.
Soul Food is the longest running so-called black drama on TV, which is sickening.
You talk about the gay agenda, Soul Food was tailor made for black women and gay men.
Compare Soul Food to Nip Tuck, Dexter.
Watch Six Feet Under and see if Soul Food holds a candle to it.
It doesn't.
The Corner
Hood related mini-series.
Gideon Oliver
Where's the complexity? Where's the drama?
There's a reason it was chucked 5 eps in.
Laurel Avenue
Never saw this but I'll make a point to do so.
Lincoln Heights
Despite the tired storyline ( brother going back to his hood to do good ), this is actually a great series. Great acting, Great storylines. Great drama. Complex characters and situations.
Russell Hornsby did a great job trying to balance his job and family.
Even though it's based in the hood, it is well written and directed.
Mama Flora's Family
Po share croppers blah, blah, blah........
So we have Treme and Lincoln Heights.
Again, they're hood based but the drama is there.
Now, I didn't know that the story was about a son rapping his father that's why I asked is there a story behind it.
But I'm willing to bet that I won't find any cases like that unless there's an exception to that behavior.
In Nip Tuck, Ava Moore's character manipulates her own son to fall in love with her to the point he becomes suicidal.
So her son didn't just start fucking his mother, the mother fucked his head up first.
Did the son just rape his father out of nowhere or did the father fuck his head up first?
What, boys aren't getting molested in the black community?
motherfucker there is not one case in recorded history of the united states of a black man raping his father.
proof number 1 that you are indeed fucked in the head.
and apparently i know more about tv than you do. i wont reach 3?
- Under One Roof
- Frank's Place
- Treme
- Platinum
- Soul Food
- The Corner
- Gideon Oliver
- Laurel Avenue
- Lincoln Heights
- Mama Flora's Family
that was reason number 2.
