Official BREAKING BAD Season 4 Discussion Thread 10p SUNDAYS

good start to the new season ...

gus killin' ol' boy ... didn't see that comin'.. but it does make sense ...

i jus thought gus was gonna give ... walter and jesse .. a stern talkin' to ... lol...

and when i saw him puttin' on the coveralls ... i thought he was gonna help ol' boy with the cook .. to show walter .. that he's not as indispensable as he thinks ...

but on another note ... for someone who jus killed his first man ... and seein' his reaction it.. leads me to suspect jesse might have some natural born killer in him ...

the kinda dude ... that could drop a body by day .. and sleep soundly at night...

I could see a scenario by the end of this season where jesse kills gus ...

Nah i think they're gonna get the other hitman to do it. Don't forget he just saw dude kill his right hand man for fucking up. He is not higher in the chain than the guy they just dissolved in a barrel and loyalty doesn't count for shit. If anything I could see Walt this whole season trying to convince dude that he should work for him since if he replaces Gus he can pay him probably more and the Hitman knows Walt is somewhat loyal. I mean he was going to be killed just because he refused to sell Jesse out.

Also it was rough to watch hank fucked up like that. Dude looks damn near suicidal. and like someone else said i see Walt's kid using Meth too.

Gus didn't know who to kill. If Walt wasn't talking he would ve zipped Jesse and Walt. He decided to go with option 2. But I think that scene proves once and for all that Gus is a sadistic sociopath. He didn't even flinch when he was putting in work. Gus had to make the decision there. But the truth is, all of the above are fuck ups but he has to do make do with what he has. Walt lost his upper hand by looking like a fearful bitch. Gus broke him the hell down.

I think he killed him because he was identified @ a murder scene, Left his car there, didn't sweep the place for evidence linking back to him... The dude turned into a liability with that. Then let Walt talk him to "thinking he could cook " anything of the same quality.. dude knew he failed tho..:smh:

As far as walt goes, he is the power because no him= no product of that quality... Jesse gets that pass cuz Walt said so... Gus problem is that Jesse and Walt lookin @ shit on some real shit now.... Wildcards...

How long before that 96 mil starts lookin better than that 3 mil for 3 months shit...

If they slow up gus produce.... Somebody else might take him out..

GREAT EPISODE!! writers had gus silent the whole episode and he was the loudest mf in the room!

On some real shit... He did that shit, And didn't run after he did it either. He sat in the car, knowin what was coming..

Mufucka had a denny's grand slam after the whole shit..

:yes::yes::yes:

man that scene with gus was one of the most gangsta ass scenes in tv history.

man that scene with gus was one of the most gangsta ass scenes in tv history.

man the tension in that scene is only trumped by the tension from the scene when walt's brother in law was shot up by the twins. I can still hear the car alarm going off. Yet Another scene that gus was in cause he alerted the brother with a phone call. Seem like every scene gus is in, you get the feeling he is operating on some next level shit with every person he is dealing with. Tell the person one thing but have totally different agenda behind the scenes.

damn one episode in and they might as well just line the Emmy's up and give one to everybody in that scene...

Great song used during BREAKING BAD during season 3 of the show on the "No Mas" episode a few weeks ago in 2010 ...

man that scene with gus was one of the most gangsta ass scenes in tv history.

Yea that scene alone should put Giancarlo in the hunt for a golden globe...his eyes were too fierce..

On a whole, this season, I think Walt will kill Gus and take over Gus's empire...cut the middleman, connect with the people all over the Southwest, and use Mike the Cleaner as his muscle...

Soon as Mike said to Victor "Did the people there see your face?" Victor said "yea, so what?"

Mike's facial expression said it all, Victor's time was up...

:lol:damn, this should be a good season.

I think Gus was never gonna kill Walt and Jesse honestly. I think he wanted to body them because he couldn't trust them. The beginning of the episode they showed when the new chemist and Gus first started to put things in motion. He said he can only do 96% pure instead of the 99% the other chemist was doing. This part is kind of conflicting to me because it lead me to believe Gus didn't want to get rid of Walt and Jesse but felt he had too. I doubt we see him attempt to replace them again.

:itsawrap:

Yup!

And the possibility of Victor knowing how to cook Walt's recipe and branching out on his own was a liability. :itsawrap:

i knew he was dead from that point. when gus took the knife i knew victor was dead shit walt and jesse the stars anyway they can die in the first ep:lol:

thats it

Name of the episode - "BOX CUTTER".

We all should have known Gus was about to wreck shop as soon as he entered the fucking lab, 'cuz Mike/Victor/Jesse/Walt weren't about to harm one another ... but Pollo Loco though ... LIKE A BOSS ...

“Breaking Bad” mastermind says the next, fifth season will be the AMC drama’s last.

Vince Gilligan tells the New York Times:

“This was never intended to be an open-ended show,” he said. “As creators of the show, we have to see it through to the end, to finish what we started.”

Star Bryan Cranston adds:

“We’re able to manipulate time, so that even though we’re four years into the show, we’re only a year into the story,” Mr. Cranston explained. “The conceit was that Walter White was given a diagnosis of two years to live. We’re going to hold to that and, by the end of the series, I can’t imagine him not dying. Although it may not be from lung cancer.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/17/arts/television/breaking-bad-returns-and-walter-whites-descent-continues.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2

im calling it now..walter gets merked in the series finale(or its implied that he does,if the final scene shows him surrounded by a SWAT team)

i hope this is the season where jesse gets murked..that lil punk has it coming and i dont understand why walt keeps sticking his neck out for him..

Burger - He mentioned this in mid-2010 at one of those television / writers-type conferences. The good thing though is that he said he wants to tell the story properly, and was hoping AMC would give them 4 - 5 seasons. His fear was that IF they tried to milk it ... they would eventually end up JUMPING THE SHARK and making the shit dumb and foolish. So that's great to hear they've got (essentially) 2 full seasons remaining as we're only 1 episode into the current one, and the series began in 2008. Season 3 wrapped in June 2010, and season 4 started in July 2011. Big ups to all the shows which DIDN'T jump the shark. The Wire (5 seasons) / The Sopranos (7 seasons) / The Shield (7 seasons).

My take is a number of things ...

- Jesse could easily turn on him (just as he could on Jesse). So he's simply riding things out knowing he'll be dead in the near future either way (via succumbing to cancer, or being killed by Gus or one of his people - such as Mike). He'd rather (Walt) ride it out until the end, instead of crossing Jesse (like he almost has on a few occasions) and potentially risk getting set up or shot by Jesse (if it ever came to that). The 2 of them have seen too much together (in their life of crime). Jesse being a junkie who was kicked out of his home / Walt being his former science teacher back in high school, etc.

- He realizes they've both been pretty loyal to one another throughout all the bullshit they've been through the past "year" there in Albuquerque (played from 2008 - 2011 on seasons 1 - 3).

- His lung cancer diagnosis is terminal, and he's been giving 2 years (or less) to live.

- He approached Jesse in the first place in regards to fabricating meth' together (back in 2008). It wasn't the other way around. Jesse didn't approach him with the idea. They have BOTH made a grip of money together (despite the fact that they've had to do some very shady stuff, including killing people, along the way).

- They have looked out for one another along the way. Hank (Walt's brother-in-law) NEARLY KILLING Jesse. Walt running down the 2 guys from Gus' crew with his Aztec, and shooting one in the head (Season 3 - Episode 12 - "Half Measures").

- Jesse being given orders by Walt in the final scene of Season 3 - Episode 13 to go and kill fellow meth' cook, Gail (from Gus' team), etc.

I knew Gus had it in him but I never knew Gus had it in him...

*two cents*

I wouldn't include "The Sopranos" on this list.

finally saw the premiere:yes:
my thoughts
last year you guys called him chicken man, but now that you see him body a guy everyone calls him by his name gus now:lol:
I knew he was gonna kill that guy
1. being at the murder scene
2. not protecting him
3. remember he was calling the chemist before he got killed so it was a matter of time before the cops started piecing things together

and yeah if the women that played denzel moms can get nominated so can gus:yes:

yep at the beginning of the episode the second chemist, Gail, put a SERIOUS bug in Gus' ear about the quality of the shit and how hard it would be for him to match it, and Gus didn't go through all the trouble of warring with the other cartels just to not have the best quality shit.....he ain't the type....

Where are the next episodes?????? On this past Monday's Bill Burr podcast he stated that he had an advance copy of the first 4 episodes (he is going to be in episode 2 or 3) I figure with that info someone from this board would be able to infiltrate his laptop.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Walt is going way to hard to kill Pollo and is coming off as amateur. Jesse is drawing way to much attention to himself trying to avoid being lonely. Still early though

Peep Skylar though trying to buy a Carwash. Thats what Walt needs to do buy himself a way to clean his cash. After he get himself a legitimate cover story hire yourself some goons and renegotiate with Pollo maybe buy the lab of of him so he and Jesse can have their own damn security or something.

skyler's plan to buy the carwash...shot down like a muthafucka...lol.. she thought she was so prepared too...

walt...thinkin' he can show up to gus's house unannounced ... like gus ain't got 24 hour surveillance and security ....

walt ... gonna need to step his game up if he plans to go after gus... cuz he's playin' checkers right now...and gus is playin' chess...

i think one of these seasons..possibly in the final season....jesse is gonna be the cause of walt's downfall...

$10 million dollars!! $20 million dollars!!

walt...thinkin' he can show up to gus's house unannounced ... like gus ain't 24 hour surveillance and security ....

"Go home, Walt."

I wonder if Mike is going to mention to Gus that Walt approached him about setting Gus up alone in a room with him. Mike sucker punched Walt's ass for even talking about doing something like that. What is Gus anyway? Black Latino? Chilean?

i think one of these seasons..possibly in the final season....jesse is gonna be the cause of walt's downfall...

Jesse is a fucking junkie. No way you can keep someone like that on your team. I think it's going to come down to a showdown between Jesse and Walt. Or Hank is going to figure shit out, get rehabilitated and get back in the game. Who knows? Damn good show though!

This whole episode should of been called reach because that is what everyone did.

I still think they need to buy a business to launder the money, but skylar wanted to show she could be that dude and went in their unprepared for dude not wanting to sell.

Walt thinks he can kill Gus on some thug shit where he needs to establish himself as a actual threat first

And Jesse throwing a 3 day party when what he really needs is that Mexican chick.

shit even Marie overreached thinking that hank wasn't going to be an asshole once they were alone together.

I'm telling all ya'll, I called it last week...Walt is going to kill Gus and take over his business by end of season!

Walt is going way to hard to kill Pollo and is coming off as amateur.

uuuhmm well he is a amateur.:yes:

and skylar just dumb walt already told her he would handle that.

well i dont think anybody thought walt would live at the end of the show. shit we were saying at season 1, that no drug dealer is going to have a positive end. especially with all the killings now.
