Punk & WWE must have a hand shake agreement allowing Punk to work independent shows, ROH, and out of the country. But still push their i'm the real WWE champ story line untill he returns full time. I bet Stephanie will be the one that resigns Punk saying that she learned from her father that not to hold grudges nd do whats best for bussiness.

I wonder how much this is photoshoped by Playboy. Because Tiffany had a nice lil rump.

We all have our differences on the brand extension, some say its good ,some say its not and while it's crystal clear (aka one of my favorite bbw pornstars) Raw is the a brand even though Vinnie Mac had said they wanted to make Smackdown the a brand. The talent roster on both shows is very thin. For example who do you think is the no.2 face on each show cause I sure as hell don't know. I talk a lot of shit about TNA but at least they do give their younger stars some tv time. When was the last time you saw Zack Ryder on tv ??? Far as the lack of blacks as champs go they do have Big Zeke as I-C champ for a while until they put it on Cody Rhodes but there was a time when R-Truth was the US champ for about 2 weeks until they put it on The Miz so that'll probably be the only gold R-Truth will get.

Wait a minute, you mean that same spinning belt which they moved to when cena got the title, stayed like that after others won it? I thought it adopted the design of the champion like the stone cold belt or the rock, etc?

Freaking hideous

Its a big selling item with the kids. Don't be sad though. Everyone outside of the WWE knows the Big Gold Belt is the REAL BELT.

It's not really the roster that's thin, it's the fact that creative doesn't use a lot of it. In fact, they probably need to let some guys go if they don't have anything for them.
WWE in fact does a better job of using their young talent, it's just that they have a lot of young talent. While TNA lets Hogan and Bischoff eat up a lot of their limited tv time and have vets like Sting, RVD, and Kurt Angle on top, WWE is pushing Miz, Rhodes, Jackson, Sheamus, Barrett, and Riley. Veterans like Big Show are in the midcard and he and Kane have been putting younger guys over all year (Mark Henry's not really a younger guy but they put over Zeke and Mason Ryan).
The only Black wrestler who seems to consistently win titles is Kofi and they push and pull on him so much it looks like they don't want him to be a top guy.
Shit, I forgot, David Otunga is a two time tag champ and I do think they want him to be a future top guy because he's muscular and he's married to an A list celebrity.

So you're saying that the brand extention is worthless because the WWE fails to push many talented guys.Would you prefer that the issue be even bigger because if you're saying the separate brands is a waste than that's essentially what you're saying. The WWE continually drops the ball and making it one big show would only make those things continue because if it wasn't two different shows that emphasize two different things(skits and promos vs wrestling) this thread would not even exist and we'd probably all by trying to trade ROH and Chikara tapes amongst the 5 or 6 of us that still bother with and acknoledge wrestling.

Okay im going to make this clear for the final time. The brand extension was designed so people who never got any time could finally get some exposure, the problem is Cena hogs up all the time on raw and now Orton hogs up all the time on smackdown. They continually start and stop pushes and go with matches we've seen 100 times already, look at the ppv lineups and you can see the negative of the extension. If nobody is getting made and legitimately made then what's the point, frankly the wwe was better before the extension and imo smackdown is the only show that's ever benefited from it. Like i said before even if they got rid of it you could still have wrestlers show up at certain events ie cena doesn't have to be at every raw or smackdown. Im just trying to see what good has come from the BE since 04 because i can't think of one, for the people who are sick of cena being at the top that's due to the BE.

Cena being at the top has nothing to do with the BE. He's there whether they ever did it or not and he'll be there if they stop doing it.
If Raw and SD went back to being one branded show, there's no way they don't have Cena and Orton work both shows. They would work Monday and Tuesday every week.
It was better before the BE but they had different writers and bookers then so the two things are not related. You take good writers and put them on both brands, all of these complaints go away. Bad writing is bad writing.
And guys are getting made, it's how they're handled later that matters most, something also not BE related.
When you just have one show, which is what it would be if you killed the BE, then the storylines you started on Monday would have to be followed up on Friday and then Monday again and then Friday again until the ppv. It would eliminate the need for having two separate crews and a lot of guys, good ones, would be out of work quickly. It would be like when they didn't have Raw and all the syndicated shows were connected.
The BE has sort of become something people blame for stuff that has nothing to do with them running two crews.

what is the allure of Zach Ryder? Last match I believe I seen him in was with Shaemus and that ended after a boot to the face...

He's really turned into a good wrestler and is doing a very entertaining YouTube series of goofy skits.
To have seen him and how he's developed, you would have to have been watching the WWE version of ECW where he was going over Tommy Dreamer and Hurricane Helms.
I don't know what made them drop his push but they did and they seem to not want to push him even as wrestlers and fans are begging for it.

There are good guys out of work now, my main point is it sucks now the way it is so what's the harm in going back to one big roster? You have 2 shows with 2 seperate writers which really does show itself. You mean to tell me if you took some of raws writers and combined them with some of smackdowns writers things couldn't get better? I can't blame writing completely though since the roster has to take some blame as well, how many wrestlers have they called up who either weren't ready or never should've been signed in the first place? During 98-01 everyone from the curtain jerkers to the main event had a storyline and that was when Austin & Rock were on both shows.

Yeah, if you want to see Ryder, you have to watch Superstars.

Perfect example of the BE being pointless

Think about it, if the issues is the writers being garbage, and you have two sets of these writers, putting them together will make it worse...

I believe that its good for exposure of the brand to have multiple shows, since they all generate advertising revenue and so forth. What irritates me is the limited use of their roster, hell you could even use the excess for tag teams, but recycling the same clique tactic bs is killing it. It would make more sense to band the b and c listers of the roster to hunt prey...

No im saying you take the best writers from both brands, the problem is alot of them are vinces yes men so their ideas get put ahead of the others.

Except every time Vince does a conference call he's talking about how much money they've lost (wwe films)or attendance being down.

I'm saying exactly that. Taking the best of a bad breed does not bring up the quality of the show. In fact, and this is why Vince Russo left in the first place, you just double their workload. Who would determine who were the good writers and who were the bad ones? If someone is a bad writer, why are they there in the first place?

I can't blame writing completely though since the roster has to take some blame as well, how many wrestlers have they called up who either weren't ready or never should've been signed in the first place?

How is that the talent's fault? The guys don't bring themselves up, management does. The guys/girls do the best they can but if they're not good, it's on management for bringing them up in the first place. Don't blame the roster for something that's not their fault.

During 98-01 everyone from the curtain jerkers to the main event had a storyline and that was when Austin & Rock were on both shows.

And in 98-01, you had different writers. Those people are gone and if they wanted to come back, they would be back. You can't expect the 10-11 crew to be the 98-01 crew, especially since we've seen that they clearly aren't as good.

Perfect example of the BE being pointless

Has nothing to do with the BE at all.

They would still be yes men. The things wrong with WWE are unrelated to them doing the BE and in fact, doing away with it would make those things worse, not better.

Attendance is actually up for house shows.

Because vince is trying to create a soap opera so anybody from hollywood he deems them geniuses.

When they're down there partying instead of training and there have been plenty of stories of them partying too much in florida.

I don't expect them to be as good im simply stating what i find wrong personally with the product.

I've been told the split was to showcase talent and yet you still have people barely being seen on both shows.

How so?

I didn't just relegate it to house shows, have you seen how much black tarp they use now?

That doesn't answer my question, D. If they do too much outside shit and not enough training and working, isn't it the fault of management for bringing them up?

I've seen them use a lot more tarp back in the day, pre-Monday Night Wars. Now they're doing pretty well attendance wise. I attend the last SD they had in Charlotte (the Tues after Mania) and that was the biggest SD crowd I'd seen in years.
The split was to showcase more talent and it's been more of a success on that front than a failure. Just as I can point out talent that's not being used, I've pointed out talent that if not for the BE wouldn't be used or used in the same prominence with one brand. There are always going to be people underutilized and having one show would have even more.

Yes it's managements fault which is another criticism i have with the company, but im not going to say it's just their fault and leave the wrestlers unaccountable.

I remember the bad crowds pre attitude era but raw & smackdown crowds are starting to look like the "katie vick" era. As far as talent being showcased aside from Cena & Orton who has been pushed and kept there? The main flaw with the BE was splitting the roster because it weakened the entire brand, with everybody on one brand you'd have to bust your ass to get noticed whereas now the top people can coast because who's really going to take their spot?

This is completely management's fault so you should. The talent doesn't sign themselves or bring themselves up from FCW. Back in the 80s and 90s, guys that came to the WWF were already seasoned, proven commodities. Now after they've learned the "WWE style" in FCW and if they look like Vince likes (big, muscular and looks good in trunks and a t-shirt (I swear Vince is undercover)), they call them up. Why has Consequences Creed gotten a shot yet? He's a good worker, has loads of tv experience, and works the crowd well, so what's the holdup? or Percy fucking Watson, who was getting over on NXT? Why is Husky Harris back in FCW?

I remember the bad crowds pre attitude era but raw & smackdown crowds are starting to look like the "katie vick" era.
I don't know what shows you're watching with that, D. There hasn't appeared to be any noticeable dropoff for Raw and SD audiences that I can see.

That has nothing to do with the BE. How would merging fix that with the same people in charge? You're blaming things on the BE that are unrelated. Sheamus, Barrett, McIntyre, Kofi, Dolph and others have been pushed and de-pushed (I know, that's not a word) because that's they're policy since Brock flaked out when it was his turn to start jobbing.

The main flaw with the BE was splitting the roster because it weakened the entire brand, with everybody on one brand you'd have to bust your ass to get noticed whereas now the top people can coast because who's really going to take their spot?

Busting your ass then didn't help anymore than it does now if you don't have someone in the office who backs you up. Mick Foley became a main eventer because people left WWF. Rock and HHH were moved up because the guys ahead of them went to WCW. Punk became World champion because they were in the middle of another steroid scandal.
The guys now do not work under the same atmosphere as the Attitude guys. There would be no SCSA under this regime and no Rock. Austin would be retired and they would be cramming Rocky Maivia down our throats instead of John Cena.
There is not one problem you have with the company (the same ones I have so we are not debating those at all) that merging would fix. To fix those, Vince needs to go home for good and for real and most of the creative teams fired.

Let me take a break from me and dirty's long running debate for a hot second and throw this out for the heads that come to this thread:

What are you enjoying right now in wrestling (other than Vickie, Velvet and Tessmacher's asses which are automatic:D)

Obviously, I'm still digging the Punk angle even more than the Rock angle because it can go in so many different directions.

Along those lines, I'm loving the current angle with Kevin Steen and ROH even though I can't follow it on tv. A brief synopsis:

On December 18 at Final Battle 2010 Steen and Generico ended their year–long feud in an unsanctioned Fight Without Honor, where Steen put his ROH career on the line against Generico's mask. In the end El Generico won the match and thus forced Steen out of ROH.[27] Prior to the outcome, on November 4, 2010, Kevin Steen's contract agreement with Ring of Honor ended due to financial budget concerns, which ultimately played a role within the stipulations of the match.[28]

Steen returned to Ring of Honor on June 26, 2011, at Best in the World 2011, being introduced by Corino, who had turned face shortly after Steen's departure from the promotion and claimed that he needed redemption as well. However, ROH officials forced him to leave the arena before he could show that he was a changed man. After Corino was defeated by Michael Elgin, Steen ran in to save him from a beatdown at the hands of the House of Truth, but ended up turning on him and his sponsor Jimmy Jacobs. Afterwards, Steen was dragged out of the arena, while Jim Cornette swore that he would never again wrestle for ROH.[29] Despite being labelled a heel, he was being massively cheered by the fans.

I'm enjoying the Bound For Glory series on Impact Wrestling. It makes house shows seem more important and it's given rise to youngsters like Crimson and Gunner. It's given Beer Money something to do with them down three tag teams (Jesse Neal of Ink Inc and Chris Sabin of MCMG are injured and GenMe quit).

Mark Henry's monster push. This is his best one yet. Clean victories over Kane and Big Show with Show doing a stretcher job.

Austin Aries in Impact Wrestling.

The NWA Legends Fanfest in Atlanta next week. Any fam in the arean needs to drop by at least for a day. They're even having a Q & A with "Doctor D" David Schultz and Eddie Mansfield about that infamous 1984 20/20 episode that effectively ended both of their careers.

Look we're obviously never going to agree on the BE so let's just drop it, as far as "Doctor D" he was wrong for slapping the the reporter but at the same time i can't fault him for checking a guy who tried and failed at being a tough guy. He got popped because for 1 split second he forgot he was in a room filled with guys that could've broken him in half, but to the uppity crowd it just fueled the fire that rasslers are just dummies that can't speak so they just hit. Mark Henry was great tonight and i  at orton trying to play off that horrible botch. I bet he's on the phone with the company that makes those tables and is trying to get person responsible demoted, honestly im surprised the table didn't get up and say "stupid stupid stupid

Dropped. But it's not that often on this board where two men can go back and forth for more than a page and one not call the other a bitch ass nigga.:D

I will never believe Vince didnt send him to Schultz on purpose. He might not have known D was going to hit him but he knew something was going to happen.
To the 20/20 audience, it may have been horrifying but to all wrestling fans, we cheered him on.
Doctor D was before his time in a lot of ways. There's a lot of Doctor D in Stone Cold Steve Austin.
they building henry up good...........................he'll never be champ

No, he probably won't. If they weren't giving Christian another quick reign, I would think they would give one to Henry. With the way the heels are dominating right now, you would think Vince hired Bill Watts back and put him in charge.

I know it's not the finished product but it feels like it's going to be the same game anyway. :dunno:

It looks like they just remixed JBL's entrance for Del Rio's.

THQ might actually be worse than EAsports. With how bad, & stagnant game-play has been in both UFC & WWE. They don't make any significant game-play adjustments that are really needed year after year.

All Stars was alot of fun, this just looks weak. When they gonna animate that damn belt, the straps still don't fold when they hold it up
