Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

This show shits on Spartacus and all its bullshit fight scenes, corny writing and overuse of fake blood splashes.

You've never seen The Wire? Are you black and younger than 40

Some of you really over rate this show :smh:

Spartacus is for people who aren't in to dialogue and detailed character development. It's like a comic book movie.

I don't see why dudes bring it up all the time. I like, but damn :smh:

But the writing on the prequal was a lot better.

This is better than Rome

and I'm not sure how you can even compare it to some of the other shows you did.

The Shield, Walking Dead...

both of you ninjas is stupid. games of throne is a great show with excellent writng but the show isnt action packed. spartacus have both action and writing.

games of throne never show a battle scene. i like both shows so hold the sparactus fanboy comments.:hmm:

im not talking about the war. there was battles but they never showed it. im all about writing but they should've showed how they caught jaime lannister. theon greyjoy said jaime took out 10 ninjas solo when they tried to capture him. it would've been great to see that. this is my problem.

If you like Game of Thrones... I guarantee you will also love the Wire.

I know it's alot of Wire episodes / seasons to try to catch up.. all at once....

Just take it one episode at a time.
Start with Season 1... and soon you will be hooked.

Why is it a problem when the book didnt have the scene in either, like I said Game of Thrones is more about story and character development than having action in it.

This little bitch was in Batman Begins:

And IMDB has this show rated as a 9.5/10:lol: Come on its a good show, its not that good i have never seen a 9.5 ratings for anything movie and tv show included, ever!

To put that in perspective:

The wire, The shield, all the Spartacus series, xfiles, sporanos, house, walking dead, Star Trek, prison break, Rome ETC ETC ETC and its not even close!

Really?

seen alot fo 9.5 things on there, includingthat movie you mentioned and inception and avatar. Its a good show bro, I started reading the books because it was so good and I hate fantasy as a genre

Agreed. Its a grossly overrated show. Honestly i didnt watch the entire season. Alot about the show was just corny and suspect to me. The shallow characters and almost cartoonish feel of it all was also a bit of a turn off. I will probably give it another shot when i have the down time to check out the prequel and entire season.

The fight scenes were beyond lame. Cut shots, slo-mo, and comedic choreography always left me :smh:. Add the laughable blood splashes and overall unrealistic feel and i just couldnt watch that shit. Its a show that seems to appeal to teenagers, chicks, and those with short attention spans.

IMDB has 3 tv shows ranked hire than GoT...The Wire is one of them

Spartacus made top 50

I need to watch Rome again...watched the 1st ep and hated it...I should give it a chance

eewwll you lucky bastard...WATCH THE WIRE...I have nothing to watch now til Breaking Bad come back on...you have 5 unseen seasons of The Wire to watch...season 1 & 2 are a tad slow IMO but it pays dividends...I think that show always stretched its writing too thin tryna do too much especially w/ the school season and the press season but their depiction of the drug game/street life is unprecedented w/ long-lasting memorable characters

I'm both and never saw more than 10 minutes of the first season of The Wire. Heard it was great, never watched.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

 Then when there is action or violence, it's more shocking and meaningful. It's a very smart show.

I've been going to alot of forums and alot of people is complaining about the lack of action....:smh:

I wish people will stop comparing "Game of Thrones" to "Lord of the Rings"....:hmm:

maaaan I just finished watching the season finale:yes: I love stories like this where the characters serve the story and not vice versa, as well as making them real human beings and not caricatures. who woulda thunk that drago getting all fired up in ep 7 & 8 would go out with a whimper like that:eek: that final scene was like  man this whole season was just awesome...however the wire is still the g.o.a.t show, and like another poster said, you gotta give the writers credit on how they wrote season one, when they didn't even know if they were gonna get a season 2:yes:.

I wonder how they going to do season 2 because their will be alot of new characters that will progress the story even more....

Linking to an good series of interviews of the writer George R Martin

He talks a lot about the casting, the writing, and how he hopes the show will go.

Also a lot of insight into why he wrote the series the way he did

it's missing that "greatness" aspect of the show.... maybe too many characters too early... the fantasy element don't help much imo... after season 1 i still don't have a favorite character... will coontinue to watch... butt I don't think this is even as good as Deadwood... or Rome really... glad they made it but :dunno:

The 5th book comes out tomorrow just letting everyone know. And those who listen to the audio book Roy Dotrice is back.

Three things:

Game of Thrones should be compared to The Borgias if anything..

Amajorfucup & Complex watched Santa Barbara and not He-Man as kids..

The Wire probably seems more thrilling to people who aren't from The DMV...

This chick was supposedly casted to play Brienne the Maid of Tarth. She's 6'3, they are going to need a lot of makeup to make her look ugly.
