I graduated from an HBCU and we didnt have a stage, all we had was a podium with room for two people....the graduate and the President.
They outlawed the huge stages because of the excessive struts and stepping from the frats(Ques) year after year.

when i graduated high school my shoes were a half size too big & the carpet on the stage was slippery as hell. i barely remember getting my diploma cause i was concentrating on not bustin my ass.
