Media Services Manager - Boston Celtics (Boston, MA)


This full-time position will report to the Vice President of Media Services.
Primary Responsibilities:

Writing and compiling Game Notes for every game. Responsible for distribution of Game Notes and related information to opponents for all games.
Writing, compiling and editing Media Guides (regular season, post-season, summer league and draft guides).
Preparing and submitting award nominations to NBA for weekly and monthly awards
The main contact for processing requests for game-by-game media and photo credentials and establishing the seating chart.
Coordinating interviews for staff and players with the media.
Assist with the proactive development and generation of story ideas for local and national media.
Write press releases, player biographies and player statistics.
Organizing files, archives, scrapbooks, clippings and telephone, mail and email requests that arise on a daily basis.
Assist with the supervision and development of the department interns.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications: The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in sports administration/management, communications, journalism or related field. 3 to 5 years experience of professional or collegiate sports publicity/information experience is required. The candidate must have exceptional verbal and written skills, communications skills and possess excellent skills working with people. The candidate needs to have an excellent ability to work with the media, staff, players and the general public, and have a clear understanding of the concept being ‘media savvy’. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuarkXPress. The candidate must also be willing to work a flexible and demanding work schedule.
