The craziest thing is I was talking to my co-worker who's from Detroit about driving up to his home this summer and asking for a sit-down. He said a friend of his did that and spent an afternoon with the champ and his wife.
I remember wanting to have a sit down with Negro League legend Buck O'Neil, but he also passed before I could get a chance. Rest in peace champ
