KING: A Filmed Record
Montgomery To Memphis
This never before released landmark documentary that chronicles the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from the beginnings of the Civil Rights movement in Montgomery, Alabama, and culminating with his assassination in Memphis in 1968.
Originally screened in U.S. theaters for only a single night in 1970. A severely edited version was shown on some American television stations once until last year 2013. This is the uncut 3 hour version restored and archived in the U.S. National Archives.
Most politicians, in collaboration with todays knowledge suppressing 30 seconds sound-bite media, have distilled Martin Luther King's entire life's struggle ending De Facto white supremacy, and his fight for civil rights & economic justice for all, activities which resulted in him being murdered by the State, have been distilled into a one sentence riff "I have a dream".
Whether you think you know a lot about Dr. King or you know little, the 3 hour film will show you scenes from Dr. King's struggle that have rarely been seen in any other documentary. This film chronicles the American History that unfortunately, even today in 2014, too many Americans pretend never happened.
