The thing is, even if that shit were to work, folks would be claiming he had metal plates or something stuffed in the books or perhaps he was wearing some body armor..Bruh, Darwinism at work here. .50 cal? I wouldn’t get shit with that if I was a mile away wear strike plates.
Both would have been a lot smarter than trying it with out first testing if the book could hold up to the bullet, and guessing with his life on the line..
Real stunt men don't guess, they calculate based off of science and often mathematics..
At that distance the bullet would rip through armor 1/4 inch thick like butter. His heart and lungs were demolished if he wasn’t cut in half. No amount of armor could have helped him. A 5.56 bullet maybe but even a 7.62 round would have done almost the same. Rifles round tips penetrate through armor which is why you need the ballistic strike plates to keep over the breast plate. He made a bad choice

I always talk about people not needing guns in general but this is one case where,it served it's purpose because if they would do something sooo stupid just imagine what he and she would do if he had of lived....I can't so RIP to him and blessing to those kids cause their going to need it
you aint bullshitting either...when i was living in AZ. I had some cool as esses working near our main office. from time to time they come over and invite to eat....good food and free ..so i went. i seen some wild age range in the family man....there was this 1 chica that looked 14 with a kid married to a dude looked like he was 30.....gave him the sideye and one of the homies was like aye man they in love.....i was like yea ..he love them young girls alright. but he pulled me to the side and said the sae thing you just did. its a cultural thing plus old dudes be getting at them young girls with money and support so some of them go for that shit and have they dude on the side...but its crazy how nobody see nothing wrong with it.
