Yo Rocky, taking your advice -The Dog Years pilot.

Rocky threw the advice my way a few years back about just doing the pilot myself. Said fuck it, spent the money, upgraded my mac and bought the software, started practicing on my own, employing a few of my artists for help. We started auditioning at my boys studio in Houston for the voice parts...

After running into bullshit animation studios and wasting time trying to outsource, just going to do the damn thing.....thanks Rock. :D

Yo DRAY! GOOD SHIT MA'MAN!

Perhaps you don't need to do it ALL by yourself. Anyhow, whether you crowd fund it, or fund it through sales . . . I'll support.

Also, in the past I've tried connecting Black BGOL Illustrators/Graphic Novelist together but have not succeeded as yet.

In particular, I tried to get you in this book my college buddy put out on Black Comic Book Artist's . . . but I guess the book was already going to print. It's called 'BLACK COMIX'-->

Anyhow, here's a link to his site. http://j2d2arts.blogspot.com/

Point I'm trying to make is, there's a lot that goes into what you do. And NOBODY knows that better than you. BUT if there's a collaboration possibility to help you out, could be worth connecting you two . . . or I should say 3, because he has a partner as well.

Anywhow, check'em out who knows.

I know a handful of REALLY fucking awesome Illustrators. One of my other guys, who's back in Chicago right now, running an art gallery is underground royalty there.

We came up on the graffiti side of things. Funny thing is, I got him a gig doing cartoon animation, through a broad I used to bang. Her dad ran an animation studio and had a contract with Disney.

I know a few heads man. An if I don't, I some who know some.

I know we can go at it ,but proud that you're walking the walk.. that puts you ahead of 98 percent of people:yes:

AWESOME MAN.

Maybe you could start with short 5 minute skits to get that interest going (more).

As you will see, its a tremendous amount that will go into an episode. Sometimes enough to kill your energy. But if you do short spurts, you might be able to grab the attention of the right people to get the whole project done without too much sweat off your back.

Good luck!

To build on what JG said, why not do a kick starter?

Get a few animators and expert software guy and do it in-house. And you can pay them and have the fans fund the project. Give a poster, a comic book or signed dvd with a pledge?

I would donate.

i'm actually conflicted about this.

on one hand, props to Dray for not letting bullshit stop his dream, and building from the ground up on something he's passionate about.

on the other hand...

WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO DO THIS SHIT!!!! do you know how many hours of seemingly ENDLESS SOLITARY work it took JUST to get the samples he's shown here???

we SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WORK THIS FUCKING HARD to get this shit done!!!

ARRRRRRGGGHHH!!!!!

okay...okay...now that that's all out my system...

i guess you gotta do what you gotta do...so in the end...props Dray.

Ahh man I don't know about that. Some people do have a easier route like for instance a Brett Ratner in Hollywood but no one respects him. In the long haul the hardworkers are the ones who get more respect.

Thats what's up!

Go hard or die trying

yo, Buck, you're right it does take hours. I just got back from North Tezas working a festival for the last week, and as soon as I got in the house I dropped my bags in the corner, and started working on frames, didn't sleep till 10 the next morning.

Look, I wanted to create a comic book, I did it on my own, wrote, penciled, inked, edited, shaded, colored, promoted that bitch on my own. I'm tired of waiting. Been sending books to studios, trying to colab with folks for a good 5 years, traveling to ATL and NYC trying to make it happen, bullshit all around.

So fuck waiting, and begging. Build it and they will come....fuck it.

Ever consider trying the folks in Korea out:

Check out this story Dray. I bet you must have seen it.

Good stuff and keep on pressing on!!!

dope.

Like somebody else said, maybe you should put together like a 3 min short and then start a kickstarter page.
