Camp Supervisor - Orlando Magic (Orlando, FL)
JOB SUMMARY
To assist in the administration and facilitation of basketball camps, clinics and other related basketball programs for the Orlando Magic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for onsite camp supervision and operations.
• Manage camp location(s) as assigned.
• Facilitate pre season camp counselor meeting prior to camps starting
• Develop and design of camper handbook and camp staff book.
• Assists in the development of camp schedule and format along with education and training of camp counselors.
• Assists in research, development and implementation of new revenue sources as it relates to camps i.e. After School Program, Specialty Camps, etc.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the Camp budget.
• Assist Camp Manager and Human Resources in hiring camp staff.
• Assist Camp Manager with camp assignments for each camp counselors based on camper numbers at each camp site.
• Assist Camp Manager in camp counselor evaluations.
• Assist in maintaining counselor sign in sheet for each week of camp.
• Assist with turning counselor pay information into Camp Manager.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the Campbrain data base.
• Assist in ordering camp T-shirt, staff shirts, awards and any other equipment or supplies needed.
• Coordinate the distribution of all camp equipment and supplies to various campsites.
• Secure lunch options for camp staff and campers.
• Liaison with Cooperate Partnerships in securing an agreement with local hotel to provide special rates for potential out of area campers.
• Assist Interactive Marketing with maintenance of Camp website.
• Assist Interactive Marketing with email blasts and distribution of all upcoming camp information.
• Coordinate with Creative Services on design of all collateral and support materials.
• Assist in coordinating with Media Relations for Player and Coach appearance’s at camp.
• Coordinate with Retail Manager to provide retail outlets at camp sites.
• Coordinate with Group Ticket sales to provide ticket selling opportunities at all camps, clinics.
• Distribute camp collateral materials at specific Magic home games.
• Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and ability to adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma required. College degree preferred
2. Basketball related experience, in the areas of coaching, Youth Basketball Camps and Leagues with a minimum of 5 years coaching experience at the High School and or College level.
3. Strong organizational, administrative and communication (verbal and written) skills
4. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities
5. Ability to work independently
6. Proficient Computer Skills (with various general business applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel)
7. Excellent customer service skills required
