This shit happened to my boy. His ex-wife said he beat the shit out of her when she beat herself and called the police.
the only reason he didn't go to jail was because he was at a club and had witnesses that he had been there all day helping the club owner set up. There was video evidence of him being there all day. Had he been anywhere else without a viable alibi he would have been toast.
After that he dipped. He divorced her and he was out of his son's life for 8 years because he couldn't deal with that bitch trying to ruin his life. He eventually got back into his son's life after she dumped the boy on her parents and started hitting the streets partying.
The broad just disappeared after she dumped the boy off and no one has seen her in a few years, though she remembers to call her mother on her mother's birthday. She didn't even go to her son's high School graduation
