Why does Ace Hood always flop?

I think he has put out three albums and every single one of the flopped:lol: In my personal opinion he is not a bad rapper but I think that people can see through that bullshit tough man talk he be spitting. Ace hood comes off to me as a super lame that can write gangster flows. I think they need to work on his image more or something.

You pretty much answered your own question. Fans don't feel him or his music.

He has some okay songs but he does not have what it takes to be a star even in the southern rap circles.

Chicks do not really flock to his music and other then the "Hussle Hard" remix, the streets are not really checking for him.

I dont think that has anything to do with it cuz there are plenty of rappers who we see through their tough talk BS and they still sell just fine

He doesnt sell cuz his music sucks and he doesnt have crossover appeal

I bought his recent album. It was a solid album (only a 3 or 4 songs really stood out though). I think he simply needs more time to develop, he's not quite there yet.

Remember Eminem, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Kanye, T.I. etc. ALL them dudes been rapping for YEARS before they blew up. I think the same applies here. Also dude don't really have that affiliation with a 50 Cent, or Dr. Dre, or Lil Wayne, to really give him that extra push (Khaled can only do so much for you).

People just don't feel him or his music.

As an entertainer and a rapper, he lacks personality. Nothing about him makes you want to root for him.

He's not lyrical (or possesses good wordplay), but he's not catchy either. He doesn't really bring anything unique to the table, musically, except maybe his voice. But that's not enough.

He lacks that ability to be catchy like Waka Flocka or Gucci. If you're not lyrical, you gotta at least be catchy and have a good ear for beats. He needs some people to pitch him some good song ideas because rapping over throwaway beats DJ Khaled gets you from his producer friends will only get you so far.

Let's be honest with ourselves though.

There are about 4 rappers going platinum(Eminem, Drake, Wayne, Jay) and there's about 4 or 5 going Gold(BOB, Rawse, Jadakiss, Wiz, Lupe, J.Cole). There are far more than 9 or 10 rappers in the game. 90% of the music coming out isn't going atleast Gold. Its tough out here man. Nobody buying albums. Its all about digital sales and that's where a guy like Ace Hood can be profitable. Body To Body and Hustle Hard were hits and cashed in digitally.

Def Jam knows what they're doing with Ace Hood. They know he won't go platinum or gold. But what they can do is produce albums for the low so that 200k or 300k won't kill them and they can make money from digital songs. Ace Hood right now is in a good position. Previously he was flopping but he wasn't having hit singles. He's coming off two big singles that will allow him to make some show money. He's relevant.

He's a okay rapper. He makes decent songs. What kills him is that he doesn't stand out. He makes songs like Wiz and Rawse but he doesn't do it as good as them.

This..

women dont like him
men dont buy albums

absolutely no charisma

I agree but would you say Fabolous or Lloyd Banks have any charisma?

fab does, thats why he's still around somewhat
lloyd is monotone that's why he's off the map largely.
he fights back

\and both of those two appeal to women AT LEAST so they can make a song for the ladies and get their shine back

A young broke lookin nigga wit a corny ass name like ace hood is strike one.
Rhyming over played out jeezy sounding beats with no originality talking bout hustling is strike two.
Being co signed by dj khaled Is strike 3.
Thats the perfect recipe to make a person say awww jeez not this shit again.

I personally like his music and felt his last cd. But I'm an oddball who listens to an album all the way thru so I can give an honest opinion. Its so easy to hate or say you don't like something without giving it a shot.

Some ppl when they rap they are just talented enough to make you believe what they are saying...ex. Tupac...some say he was fake but the passion/energy dude has in his raps still got ppl amped behind his music...ppl like Ace Hood + Rick Ross make passionless music imo...doesn't seem to be any soul/heart to it...like they're just playing a role...ironically I fuck w/ the crazy looking lightskin nigga from Ross camp music before I fuck w/ Ross shit...Gunplay that's his name...but all them niggas that associated w/ Khaled is fake and corny as shit and you can hear it in they music :dunno:

I agree but would you say Fabolous or Lloyd Banks have any charisma?

fab is witty and all his lady type songs been fire, banks is on ace hood level without the 50 cent connection, his last album did ace hood numbers even tho it was a good album,i think rick ross has no character also but he's confident about his music and he carries himself as the boss in his songs, if u listen to a ace hood track he sounds like a flunkie, like he's not in control of shit he's jus a pawn being put out there, i dont think ace promotes himself enough, and this might sound funny but they put his albums out to quick,it was very good tho

And J Cole music is bullshit.

And J Cole music is bullshit.

j cole is boring, and my guess on why they keep puttin out ace hood albums is cause his contract is so shit that they get profit of the nigga regardless, i think there was a interview posted here right b4 his last album dropped where he said he was broke and almost evicted out of his crib, they jus raping the lil nigga until his contract is done

yo keep recording and releasing theSAME GAWD DAMN SONG over and over and that will happen:hmm:

seriously...

I think people really underestimate the "IT" factor..

Fab had it, seems like Bank has finally acquired some after he stopped beefing and concentrated on flows and beat selection.

J. cole I like but I NEVER thought he would be a WORLD WIDDE star and I he confirmed it wioth that I Just Cant Get Enough" track...

the shit beat is BANGING!!!

But he doesnt KILL the beat...

he is vert good...

but diss Drake all you want when 40 goes over those beats and makes that "pocket" ..

Drake sounds damn near perfect vocally...

I miss the days when artists were able and had time to really hone their craft...

look how Fat Joe improved after Pun, even Phife after the first album, shit Rick Ross should have been a one-hit after "Hustling", Lil Wayne while sounding wack NOW had improved immensly.

Artisits who are polished and defined like Nikki, 50,Snoop etc. out the box is RARE!

Plies and Gucci Man got every wack rapper thinking it's safe to come out with some bullshit. When they got cold he should have stepped back. Fuck it tho' scared money don't make no money whether you wack or not.

Body to Body is the joint tho', chicks are still feeling that side, all in the passenger seat like Karaoke Idol.

Man you did not just say that :hmm::angry:

look I dont really like her music but dammit we NEVER thought her first album would outsell DRAKE???

With the hype machine that boy had...

white people love that chick , soccer moms, mall, pop stations award shows...

she is basically the EXACT SAME character she was on her first mixtape...

which was actually very good:D

you gotta look at the bigger picture..

she came into the game with a vision and gimmick and style pre-packaged...

dont matter if you like her or not...

that is some undeniable shit...

as a business man you would have been fired if you had let her slip trough your fingers..

she could leave YM NOW and still sell well...

EXACTLY!!!

Yep, you don't really hear the cat much outside of his music, dude needs to get out there and sell himself more.

ironically I fuck w/ the crazy looking lightskin nigga from Ross camp music before I fuck w/ Ross shit...Gunplay that's his name...but all them niggas that associated w/ Khaled is fake and corny as shit and you can hear it in they music :dunno:

I think that cat is slept on, personally. You can tell the ninja be spittin real shit, and he has a high energy level.:yes::yes:

And J Cole music is bullshit.

I kinda felt that way before, but after that last single, it was official...:smh::smh::smh:

Body to Body is the joint tho', chicks are still feeling that side, all in the passenger seat like Karaoke Idol.

Man, every time I've been at the club, it never fails, when that joint comes on, you can feel the whole vibe change, chicks love that shit, it is a nice mellow joint.
