Why do people watch demonic shows/movies?

I consider myself a spiritual person. I'm Christian. But I respect other religions, and would even go so far as to say I'd be another religion if I was born and raised where another religion was prevalent. As a spiritual person, I respect, and try not to harm, others because I believe doing so is crucial to living life as good person. I don't believe one can ascend to a heaven, or a better existence after this one, if such a thing exists, if one is not a good person.

Demons embody propensities and tendencies antithetical to being a good person. Their sole function is to disrespect and harm others. If despite it all, you believe you're a good person, why validate and give power to what demons and bad people do, by watching t.v. shows, and movies, that portray them as having power? If you wanted to be rich, you wouldn't watch shows that glorify poverty. So why empower demons, and what they represent, by watching shows, and movies, that glorify them?

Never in the history of history can you show one documented case of a demon or non human/animal that has ever harmed a man.

Psychologically, I think a demon is an inimical stimulus that makes our ids run more rampant. But that's how I think of them. Various cultures spread around the world have believed in demons, in some manifestation, since antiquity. That's why demons are so iconic in today's media. Regardless of how one thinks of them they're socially bad and psychologically unhealthy. Why watch shows about them?

By your logic, why read the Bible if you're Jewish or Christian or why read the Quran if you're Muslim? All speak of the power, and limitations, of demons and Jinn. And what shows in particular are you speaking of?

That Cinemax Outcast show was really what got me thinking about this subject. I knew what Preacher was about, and never planned to watch it. I watched a minute or two of it and then turned it.

Why single out demons when the armies of the world do more killing and cause much destruction?

Their destructiveness is real and not a contrived scapegoat for the shit men do.

We dont need myths and monsters when we have men with free will.
 
It's both sad and scary that people think this way in the 21st century. What if people don't believe in bronze age fuckery? Christians can respect people who worship false gods and have a problem with them looking at demon flicks? I swear the cherrypicking people go through to believe this primitive shit is unbelievable.
 
Ideas like that used to fuck with me when I was a kid cuz of all the church bs. As a grown man, you need to get past that. If demons was real like that all of us on bgol woulda been possessed by some foul shit a long time ago.

Growing up, I learned about tarot, divination rods, had a VERY real experience with the Ouija board as a teen. I am blessed that it was early enough in age where I can remember it, but without any trauma. All I can say for a fact is that there is life where we can't see. I don't known if I necessarily experienced a demon. Now that I am grown and have a larger picture of what I believe life is, I have no reason to focus on lower energy things such as demons, and movies that are created to bring up fear and paranoia about life and death/birth.

I look at the sun as another brother posted and am amazed because no cac can create it. It is the source. Look at the trees and birds and everything else. I believe demons/devil is a sickness and/or a perversion in everything that has been created. Lust, greed, envy which exists in many are all demonic traits that exists in man, and then the fucked human goes of into the world and fucks up.

That's how I understand it up till this point.
 
One of my uncles saw the original Exorcist movie way back and felt he was attacked by spirits that same night. This event has affected him and his family ever since, they all sleep with lights on, they are all extremely superstitious while being aggressively religious. I lived with them for a while and it was a painful experience.

Sad stuff really.

First of all, you can watch what you want to watch, and believe what you want to believe. I'm just trying to understand why you, and various others, believe what you do. You may not believe in demons, and I have no intent on convincing you they're real. But you probably believe in positive and negative energy. For example, you may try to surround yourself with people who have positive energy--i.e., a good career outlook and a successful grasp of finances. While you may try to avoid those who are destructive and otherwise have negative energy. Basically a demon is a representation of negative energy. Why bring that negative energy into your life by watching movies and shows that cast them in a powerful light? Granted, for most it is just entertainment. Nonetheless, I just don't understand why some choose to be entertained by watching demonic imagery.
