As I've gotten older I've grown to understand that everyone doesn't have the same drive, ability, or the most ideal circumstances. What might be a formality for one person might be a monumental task for another.

Real fukn spit, family.Depends on where the person is, mentally, financially, their circumstances, and what they are trying to accomplish.
Associate degree from a community college so you can appease your uncle on your way to taking over the family business. Relatively easy.
Doctorate in astro physics from M.I.T with no financial aid and supporting a familt. Relatively hard.

Real fukn spit, family.
REAL.
Starting coursework for another M.A. while juggling a divorce, a critical year in my career, my health and well-being for my child SEEMS impossible, but it just requires taking a step forward in the necessary direction.
It is still daunting to the point of migranes and silent, private rage - but do-able.

I understand and agree 100. But what I'm talking about is a little different and i should have said something before this thread took a left turn. I'm basically talking about showing a person how easy a math problem is (an example) just for them to come back say, "there have to be more to this problem. ."

Oh that is different, that is mental block personalty stuff
you can't really change that, you got to fix that at childhood.
That is more about attitude...that it CAN'T be that easy, there MUST be a trick, you must know something EXTRA you are not showing them, they could NEVER do that on their own etc.
defeatist attitude
Hell at times showing someone how possible/easy something is?
Could cause them to HATE and RESENT YOU for revealing it.
Because if they fail or not even try?
Now you exposed them.
