a Dog,
First of all you obviously do not understand the concept. The original is was never about conservatism or liberalism. These are relatively new terms used to confuse the basis for what the Democratic and Republican parties originally stood for. The Republican party has been recently called the party of Regan as if he founded it. This is used to cause dissension between those who feel that they have no power and those who are in a position of power. Prior to that if was termed as the party of Lincoln because he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which in time released those who suffered from the injustice of slavery. The Republican party was also the part of Frederick Douglas, as well as the party that had the first 18 former slaves elected to office after the end of the civil war.
Modern "his"storians do not provide the details of how the Republican party was sold out by an individualist who felt it best to sell out the foundations of this party to the opposition party for the guarantee of being elected President of the United States. Also you should know that what is now the Republican party and Democratic party have been morphed by the idealism of the men known as "Dixie"crats who left one party because they were angry with the social improvements their party leader (the President at that time) was affecting within the country.
But, I digress.
I am not going to defend Amy Holmes. You should use the Internet for research sometimes, too. She, oddly enough, has many commonalities with Senator Obama. Amy Holmes (born Lusaka, Zambia 1973) is a Republican strategist and political contributor for CNN and FOX News Channel. She has also appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher several times. Holmes graduated from Princeton University with a BA in economics in 1994.
Holmes was born in Zambia to an African father and a caucasian American mother. She was raised in her mother's native Seattle after her parents divorced when she was three.[1] She has been linked romantically to columnist Lloyd Grove and journalist Mickey Kaus. She co-hosted The View in November 2006 and May 2007.
It is obvious that her world view is predicated on the environment that she grew up in, as is yours and mine.
Everyone has to chose sides. She has chosen to call herself a conservative and it seems to me that you do not. Lets have a simple test.
1. A person should be rewarded for not trying to get a job, by the government providing a monthly stipend so long as the person continues not to work.
2. A person can have as many children as they can, because the government will reward them by giving them as stipend for each child they have. The person cannot work because it will disqualify them from test 1 above.
3. A person enters the country illegally. The person begins to work, but because they are illegal does not pay taxes. The person eventually starts a family and has children. The birth of these children from an illegal parent is performed at a hospital at tax payers' expense.
There are many more questions than what I have placed above. I was taught that you get what you deserve. If you work hard and excel at what you do, then you should be compensated for it. Be patient, because good things
DO come to those who wait. But sometimes you have to knock on a lot of doors. Everyone's experience is different. I know for a fact that just because you are part of a community doesn't mean that that community is going to get your back. If you believe people should be judged by their character and not the color of their skin or their economic circumstances, then their is a chance for this world to get better.
But that will not happen as long as people attempt to impose their standards and views on people without consideration for their own views. Wars have been begun and lost for the very same myopic views.
Just a long-winded thought.
