I've had my house here on the southeast side of Cleveland for 29 years and never had any break-ins (knocks on wood). I did have a crackhead that I grew up with break into my garage and steal some expensive bikes and lawn equipment back around 2000.
Same with my parent's house, they also lived in one house on the southeast side of Cleveland for over 50 years and never had any issues with break-ins or crime.

They broke into my apartment when I was deployed. Since then I wanted to live where I didn't have to worry about all that AND or the cops would come when called.
It took the cop 7 hours to get to my spot when the cops were called.

Out here, some teenagers tried to break into my garage.
2:20 in the morning my alarm went off blaring, "Garage door wooowooo"
My alarm company called me at 2:21 and the police were in my driveway at 2:25

That crowbar likely had fingerprints all over it. It could have implemented Antoine Jenkins and Jamal Watkins and though it might not have gotten my stuff back they could have solved the crime right there and stopped the rash of break-ins in the neighborhood

Honestly, growing up in Cleveland I've seen good neighborhood go to shit, and I didn't want to live anywhere that was going to be Hood in 10 years. In Medina, my property values doubled from $160k (2010) to $325k as of today and I'm only 50 minutes or less from most areas I'm Cleveland

Many moons ago, I had cousins who lived in the projects. I was really young, but if memory serves, they lived across
the street from the city dump. Been a loooooong time though.
Used to visit them and go to Cedar Point in the summer.
Sounds like I should've stuck around Medina when I could have afforded a house there. Stopped there once on my way back to Detroit after living on the East Coast for a while. Looks like a town out of a 1950s magazine spread.
