Watching an abused woman on Oprah..anybody see it?

Yeah, I check her show out, from time to time...but this is the most disturbing thing I've EVER seen....ANYWHERE!! This woman's husband beat and verbally abused her for 51 minutes, while he forced their son to film it.. They show him hitting her, kicking her..he makes the son participate in the verbal abuse Torture isn't harsh enough for the dude that did this. DAMN DAMN DAMN..I'M NEVER AMAZED AT MAN'S INHUMANITY

I hate that shit with a passion. Growing up seeing that shit back in trinidad.
Seeing ppl turning a blind eye to it. It took my step mom seeing my neighbor
breaking out part of the house to beat his wife for her to go get help.

I hear why women stay after the first abuse, but I don't understand.

Don't know the ladies here, but from experiences a few ladies I thought
were strong, when "in love" succumb to the abuse. I'm separated from my
kid's mom for 12 years and never knew one of the guy's she was seeing was
beating her on the regular. She was embarrassed, scared etc to say
anything. This was a girl i grew up with. Tom boy, would fight and go toe
to toe with us guys. It was a shock.

Another who in government, facing down big wig guys on policies daily.
Would come home to blows from her boy friend and child father. For years.

Another chick, always smiling, advancing rapidly in her career. No kids,
money to do whatever, yet taking whatever shit her non-working man
was dishing out.

I teach my daughters independence daily, i'd rather them be single forever
than take shit from anyone they are in a relationship with.

the one guy who was stupid enough to hit me was the cuban guy over some bullshit we got in an argument on the street walking home and i said before this gets too ugly lets walk separate ways and catch up at home. when i reach home he starts on this bullshit i disrespected him on the street. he hit me and i hit him back and he swept me and tried to hold me down on the ground and i bit part of his finger off. it wasn't all the way off but hanging by a small piece of skin. needless to say he never tried to lay a hand on me again after that.
