I actually liked Rambo 3 more than Rambo 2...it wasn't just about blowing stuff up to blow stuff up...

I guess I'm in the minority. I liked the movie and didn't care much for the soundtrack. The last song of the movie (at the end credits) was weak as fuck and sounded like an mp3. It was really low quality compared to other songs in the movie.
The first Creed was better and more dramatic. This was done more in the vein of a Rocky movie. Rocky 4.5 is a good description. I like how they went into the Drago family and fleshed out the characters a bit. I actually wish they had done more of it. I'm sure there's a lot on the cutting room floor because of time. The training montage in this movie was banging. Very unique, like the one-shot POV boxing shots in the first movie.
Aside from Bianca, all of the characters' back stories were pretty well done, which made for a more interesting movie. I liked the story, and while the first one had more depth, this one felt like it fell in line with the other Rocky movies. In a movie like this, you expect predictability. You don't go in it to be surprised, you go along for the ride.
In truth, they sorta wrapped it up. There doesn't need to be a Creed 3. I just wish the songs fell more in line with the movie. It seemed more like somebody was doing favors for certain artists rather than building a good soundtrack to match a movie.
Same could be said for the Superfly remake. The soundtrack was very mediocre and completely missed the mark compared to the original. I did like how they used a certain event as a marker for time in Creed 2. That was clever. Its a good watch, in my opinion. You have to see the first one first, though. Its not really a stand-alone movie.

I re-read my post. I was a lil' harsh on the music. I did like the Bianca songs in this movie better. I guess Tessa "hanging out" with Janelle Monae payed off.

man, this movie was good.
The Drago family story was cool as well. Good acting from both MBJ and Sly. Beginning was a nice throwback to the first movie.
But i think it should end now. I dont see what direction they could go in.
At first i thought it was gonna be cliche and have him lose the first fight then come back and win. Glad they took another route.

Nah i bet Clubber Lang's son is who they may have Creed fight next.. was expecting a after-credits scene where we see someone watching the last fight on television then he says"Man i could whoop his ass easily..say Dad,what would your prediction be if i were to fight him?"

Drago was living in them real slums. I don’t follow boxing but as good as his boy was why wasn’t he a professional fighter ? Seemed weird someone with his talents was basically a backyard ass fighter.
