I might have some questions for you because am thinking about recording my short stories for YouTube. Wondering if I should publish them first to allow them to be bought on Amazon and then run the audio book concurrently or
AND I'm godofwine77 on YouTube, do I need to create a whole new page for my audio book work or if there is a way to cordon it off from my other YouTube account?
Appreciate any help you can give. 2022 is my year. Sitting on too many talents. Singing, poet, author, freaky tales (Side Piece: Naughty Nurse Chronicles Volume 1 by Ty Robertson is definitely happening as soon as I complete the edit/fleshing out)
Publishing under a pseudonym because I don't want to get pigeonholed when I drop my legitimate writing or children's material
I appreciate that fam.
So I went back and forth wondering whether to create a Trashterpiece Theater youtube page and post there or go with the page I already started. I landed on the 2nd because I envisioned doing more than just Trashterpiece with the page. I looked at myself as the umbrella company with the projects under that. And you can do that with different playlists. But with that said, if you're doing a pen name, you should probably create a different page and grow that so you can keep the two separate. It's really all about how you wanna brand yourself and your projects.
Look into to a storytelling podcast too. If I had to do all over again (and I still might do it), I may make a storytelling podcast to accompany the videos. One of the sistas in the festival had this DOPE ass storytelling podcast. She had all kinds of cool ambient sounds behind her stories. it was so well done. Her name is Phylicia Freeman. The link is below. Maybe your audiobook can be some kind of hybrid
Skip to the 2 min mark when the story starts
You got me on some Morgan Freeman type shit. I am actually reading this shit in your Trashterpiece Theater voice, no bullshit. I've heard it so much it's in my head, lol
I'll be contacting you I'm the future. Much success to you bro.
As a fellow creative, so much of what you do can be followed. And it's relatable AF (I shared the Hoodie Revolution to soooo many dudes who got laughs from that)
If you peeped the last Kevin Hart interview he did on The Breakfast Club he stated that black people have to realize that we can all eat. There doesn't have to be just one on top of the mountain
And that's real shit. Our culture promotes this crabs mentality where it's Michael Jackson or Prince and not both.
Why? They were both great. And Stevie, and Marvin, Teddy - everyone. Helping everyone knowing their shine, whether they end up shining more or less than you, doesn't take away from you
So much money in this market. No one is out here saying, "I gotta decide if I'm gonna watch Vision or godofwine"
They are gonna watch and enjoy both
Cool. Cuz I want an EGOTMy mentor has been saying that shit to me since I started. He has a couple Emmy's and is helping me because he said it's enough pie out there for us all to eat. When I ran the idea for animating Trashterpiece he said, "Do it. if it don't work, don't do it again." That's been my mantra with everything since.
