Black Canary Spinoff in the Works From Lovecraft Country Writer
Lovecraft Country and Underground creator Misha Green is reportedly reteaming with Jurnee Smollett for a Black Canary spinoff project.

Jurnee Smollett will reportedly return as Black Canary in a new DC project that will follow up from the events of Birds of Prey.
According to Cinelinx, Warner Bros. has tapped Misha Green to write a Black Canary project, which is likely to be a film. It could, however, become a series instead. Either way, there seems to be a strong indication that it will end up on HBO Max along with other recent DC projects, like Batgirl, Blue Beetle, and the Green Lantern series. The Black Canary vehicle would bring Smollett back to the role she previously played in Birds of Prey, and the events of the movie or show would pick up where that left off. There's no word on if Renee Montoya, Huntress, and Cassandra Cain would be involved, as they were last seen joining forces with Black Canary and forming the titular team.
