TV News: Jamie Foxx becomes a sitcom dad in first look at Netflix's Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!

The black sitcoms on Netflix all seem the same......like cookie cutter .....that show with the black Mowry twin and this one .....

Forced corny 90's jokes, some awkward moments ....

But you have a decent cast so it will get views.....

SN: Jamie Foxx and DAG are what 8yrs apart?! Jamie is not pulling THAT young, despite the hair dye and tattooed hairline....

*Correction: 11 yrs, so for Hollywood that plays

I will give it a 2nd season, but it is a great assembly of talent and eye candy. Jamie is trying to be like Martin and not like Jamie. Get better writers and tone down the stichk.

What's a dope is all the living color Easter eggs and he's dropping.

I watched 4 episodes and I didn't laugh once.

If it wasn't for the sister and the assistant I wouldn't have made it that far. And the random guest bodies.

It is horrendous.

I watched the first two episodes. I only laughed once...

“SPOILER ALERT”!

and that was when David Allen Grier fell because the daughter didn’t believe in God. It was funny because I can see that happening.

I thought the second show had a good message in the end.

“End of Spoiler”

I watch the third but it’s not really funny, glad to see that they have the show and hopefully it gets better.

I just can't watch the studio audience, laugh track type shows anymore.

Once I watched The Office and Arrested Development there was no going back.

Its DONE

Jamie Foxx's sitcom Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! canceled at Netflix after one season

Titular request granted.
Netflix has canceled Jamie Foxx's sitcom Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! after one season, EW has confirmed. The actor was reportedly involved in the decision to end the series, which debuted on the streamer in April. Deadline first reported the news of its cancellation.
The comedy was inspired by Foxx's relationship with his daughter Corinne, who also produced the series. Recalling one real-life embarrassing moment to EW, the younger Foxx recalled, "I was cheering at my final game in high school, and I look into the crowd and my whole family is there in T-shirts with my face on them. It's 15 people, and my dad is the ringleader." So, presumably, the show was not canceled out of a lack of potential story lines.

The elder Foxx played the owner of a cosmetic company as well as several other characters on the series, while Kyla-Drew portrayed his onscreen daughter. The show also reunited Foxx with his In Living Color costar David Alan Grier, who played a character loosely based on Foxx's stepfather.
Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! is the latest in a string of cancellations at Netflix, which also recently axed the superhero saga Jupiter's Legacy and the teen drama Grand Army after their freshman seasons.

Academy Award winner and generally cool guy Jamie Foxx faced his most challenging role yet when he debuted the eight-episode first season of his Netflix sitcom, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, as the titular embarrassing dad. The series, which premiered in April, was based on Foxx’s relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx, whose stand-in was played in this multi-cam by Kyla-Drew. Of course the premise would be tough: Foxx has to be one of the world’s least embarrassing dads. On Friday, Deadline reported that Netflix has opted not to renew the show, which also co-starred David Alan Grier and Porscha Coleman, for a second season. Foxx was “reportedly involved in the decision to end the series,” so he’ll finally stop Embarrassing the titular Me after all.
