On day one the first cop was hired...on day two,there was the first crooked cop.
I don't usually watch cop shows or movies...but I did enjoy this one.
Also,The Shield and The Wire....because they were not about the 'heroic,dedicated,honest,non-racist' cops.
Those shows presented a more true to life picture...
As for looking at this movie differently now?...nah,I have had the picture for a long time.

The wire never really touched on crooked cops. They eluded to Daniels doing dirt back in the day but that was it.
That's why The Wire should of lasted til this day going on 12 seasons to expose our broken system of a police dept.

That would have a great season...the police force.
No it didn't really show crooked cops,but it did show them as human...some were drunks,some inept,some assholes...and some good people.
All in all it was pretty balanced....
Compare that to the pablum that is on the networks.
When I watched training day I had a totally different outlook than a lot of other people. Alonzo was trying to show the rookie what was really going on. Alonzo was green when he first started out. The shit is chess it is not checkers. He learned how to do his job for real in the mist of an artificial world. And he had to really feel that the world was a better place without Roger (who sold dope to kids). He watched him operate for 10 years and finally got him. Right under the nose of his protectors.
A lot of people hated they showed that movie because it exposed the crookedness that goes on. I tell you in that Floyd Dent case those people were organized and had been organized for a while. There are certain reasons on why I can tell. But they never explained to the public why they told the hospital they found him walking around with a needle in his arm. Or came out about some of the other cases of Robocop that should be investigated again. Seems like the staged incident in Baltimore and other stuff took the attention away. And a lot of people did not realize what they were looking at as for as the growth and development of a certain type of energy.
The shocking part of Training Day was when a black community was going to let a white male walk up out of the community with a million dollars in cash. Alonzo kept people out of jail and he learned how to be a wolf in order to protect the sheep. But even if he had been an asshole to those people the idea of that money walking up out of their was crazy when that community could use that money themselves.
