Another Saugus resident was equally confused and was angry that Salines is free on $7,500 bail.
“It’s all about the phone and the tweeting and the pictures these days. I feel for the boy’s family and her daughter,” said another Saugus native who declined to give his name because he has a daughter in a Saugus school.

Jeffrey M. Flynn of 27 Highland St., Palmer, was ordered held on $10,000 bail and is due back in court next month, Palmer police Lt. John J. Janulewicz said in an interview.
The charges arose from an investigation that was begun by Webster police officers, who notified Palmer authorities Wednesday.
Palmer police arrested Mr. Flynn at the Webster Police Department, where he was being interviewed, Webster police Lt. Michael D. Shaw said.
Mr. Flynn allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a female student at the high school.
According to Lt. Shaw, a teacher noticed that Mr. Flynn spent a lot of time with the student, and after the witnessing teacher made inquiries, brought the matter to the administration's attention.
Lt. Shaw said there was "quite a bit of texting" between the teacher and student.
Eventually, the girl was interviewed and disclosed that the two had a sexual relationship in Palmer.
The Hampden district attorney's office did not return a phone message Thursday.
Webster school Superintendent Barbara Malkas said: "This is an ongoing investigation, and we're fully cooperating with the Police Department, and because of that we are not able to provide any comment at this time."
Because it is summer session, the teacher is not working or receiving compensation at this time, Ms. Malkas said when asked whether Mr. Flynn had been placed on paid or unpaid administrative leave of absence.
Ms. Malkas said Mr. Flynn had been hired in August 1998.

TMZ reports that Andrea Clevenger, 34, pleaded guilty to sexual assault and engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a minor at a court hearing on Thursday
Clevenger had had to register as a sex offender and is not allowed to have any contact with the victim.
Andrea Clevenger appeared in TLC’s Cheer Perfection along with her competitive cheerleader daughter Kylie.
Clevenger turned herself in to authorities in Sherwood, Arkansas, in January after two felony warrants were issued for her arrest.
‘The boy told police the sexual assaults happened at least three times, once on the sofa inside Clevenger’s home and twice inside her vehicle,’ according to the arrest affidavit reported by Arkansas Matters.
The victim is described in the affidavit as a ‘13-year-old white male’.
The boy told police that Clevenger removed his pants, climbed on top of him and had sex with him at her home. He claims he ejaculated in her mouth.
The boy also said he had oral sex with Clevenger in her car on two occasions and they texted sexually explicit pics to each other.
The parents saw the pics and called authorities on November 27. The Sherwood Police Department says it was notified of the allegations against Clevenger via the Arkanas Child Abuse Hotline.

MIDDLETON — A Saugus woman who admitted to police that she took a middle school friend of her daughter to a Danvers hotel and had sex with him cannot claim that her rights were violated because she didn’t have a lawyer with her, a judge has found.
Heather Salines, 38, went voluntarily, along with several family members, to the Danvers police station to speak to investigators after they encountered her at a Saugus middle school — where she had arrived to pick up the boy on the afternoon of March 21, 2014.
Earlier that day, school officials had been told that the boy, who had just turned 15, was showing nude photos of Salines to other students. The boy told school officials and Saugus police that Salines had taken him to a hotel and that the two also had sex in a car.
Prosecutors say Salines was a “mother figure” to the boy, whose own mother had died.
Questioned by police, Salines eventually admitted to having had sex with the boy twice.
Salines and her attorney, William Korman, had argued that when Salines was questioned, she did not understand that she needed an attorney until some time into the interview. They argued that prosecutors should be barred from using her confession against her at trial.
By the time she mentioned getting an attorney, Newburyport Superior Court Judge Richard Welch concluded, Salines had already admitted to having sex with the boy on two occasions, once at the DoubleTree hotel on the Danvers/Middleton line and once in Saugus.
Welch said that if Salines had been in custody at that point, police would have had to stop questioning her.
But Welch concluded that Salines was not actually in custody during that interview. Even though it took place at the Danvers police station, the judge noted, Salines had gone there willingly with members of her family, with whom she consulted both before and during the interview. She was even allowed to take a break to leave the room and talk to family.
“In a custodial interrogation, once the person being questioned asserts his or her right to have an attorney present, it must be scrupulously honored by the police,” Welch said in his ruling, released Tuesday. “This did not occur.”
Salines, said the judge, was not in custody. “She was not shackled in any way or under arrest,” the judge noted. “She was explicitly told that she was not under arrest.”
And the investigators told Salines that she was free to leave at any time, the judge wrote.
Salines, who is facing six counts of aggravated child rape, as well as charges of child enticement and disseminating obscene material to a minor, is due back in court Feb. 9.
