well actually it wasnt we that started this boycott talk it was jada, and she was only pissed her man didnt get that nod for the award..
I think we are doing a lot but it wont be televised, you have to get out there...
and also we as a people have very little idea how much effort is made by the waning powers that be to keep us divided...
one of their biggest fears is us linking up with brothers in africa, the cia working overtime to prevent that inevitable thing from happening..
but speaking of Greenwood, Tulsa Ok..
for those that missed it...
Your speaking of now in your reference to Jada. But this has been an ongoing problem long before Jada spoke out. I don't think Jada's comments were from Will's movie being snubbed. There's years of frustration behind this uprising. I seriously doubt Will was expecting to win this year. Nobody has as much clout as the NFL, I'm sure Will knows that.
This problem really got notice back in 1985 when "The Color Purple" was nominated for 11 awards and won zero. But if you look things have gotten worse. Not one nomination this year says it all. But its not just the fault of the academy.
Where are the important roles for black people in movies? That's even more of a problem but I'm not blaming the writer's. Its racist people in general. Look at the backlash over the mention of Idris Elba as James Bond. The James Bond character as scripted can be almost anyone even an Asian. But white people have to have a hero, even more they must come out on top in something.
