The Problem with Horror Movies Today

The problem there isn't enough rape, the hills have eyes did what we all were thinking, why would the killer kill the fine bitch without getting some pussy first.

Problem is most of them are pg-13

def on top of the list with that pg 13 shit

i'm glad he brought up the blair witch project and juss how cheap that genre is to make..like i told people b4 it don't cost a lot of bread to generate money...horror, comedy, thrillers can cost next to nothing..anotha perfect example of why black hollywood need to stop making excuses on why they can't do their own thing

I personally like the rape scene in The Hills Have Eyes remake. Not only is Brenda being raped, but she's being raped by a big ugly mutant. The scene is truly terrifying and frustrating, as we can see the rape taking place yet the other characters (who are too busy trying to put out Bob, who is on fire) cannot. Thus the raping continues.

Supposedly, according to a study in the US in the early 90s, the majority male college students claim to be turned on by the idea of rape - especially if the woman gradually starts to like it. I think some movies do exploit this notion, such as Michael Douglas' sex scene with Jeanne Tripplehorn ion Basic Instinct - which borders on rape.

I had no idea they were rapists on this board. I guess BGOL comes in all forms and walks of life......but still though.

Yours Truly.....Professor

Wow. You're like lowest of the low and full on scum of the earth.

 Jason and Freddy killed over 100 chicks combined and never once felt a titty or squeeze their ass. I'll never understand that.

The problem with horror movies is that they all are made with the same pattern. Whenever the opening scene of a horror shows are high school or college, DONE, I turn it off. The horror genre started changing when the SAW movies came out but sadly each SAW followed its' predecessor, again they stuck with a pattern. I was excited when I seen the first Paranormal Activity, probably one of the best horror made in same time. But now I grow tired of it. Directors stopped being creative with horror movies, they just follow the last one they made.

Excellent video because I'm a horror junkie, but shit today is weak and filled or jump scares for no reason. I loved Oculus, now I have another movie I can't wait to see, Babadook. If not for this vid I wouldn't have known this movie exist.

I like that scene because I didn't expect that. I thought they'd gonthe whole pg-13 politically correct way and not try to do that but they did had dude finish off too.

they also relied too much on the"Final Girl" trope back then too

and there was lots of raping going on in these movies(technically they should be classified as horror)

Update: I seen Babadook. I say 7/10 stars. I was ok, probably won't watch it again, I don't have to, a good movie with meaning so once you know what it is you are fine with not watching it over. It was a horror with a deeper meaning and overtone. More like on the level of a Mulholland Drive, you are trying to figure out what is the Babadook instead of being scared of it.

Dude is right...all that jump scare shit about nothing is stupid. Insidious was done very well and one of the few Horror movies I actually have liked recently. Most of them aren't that scary anymore.

I also liked The Ring, altho it was considered horror, it almost plays out like a detective movie.

just about every horror movie has "the white girl falls" scene.
a white bitch can even run, or yet walk fast without tripping over something and falling down.
they put the shit in every movie......its pretty much predictable now. a horror movie isn't complete without a white girl fall.

Man, that movie started off goin' all da way in out da gate. Da 1st time I seen it, I was genuinely shocked.

Soundtrack is half the battle, problem is in the 70s & 80s music just sounded better even the noise was better. Now it's just some atomospheric loud noise in the background. Jason had a theme, Freddy had a tune and Michael Myers had that damn piano.

Now you get an overkill of Sci-Fi movies labeled as horror so they will sell. Can't forget about the over abundance of paranormal "I think something is there but nothing is there" movies. I hate them shit.

I thought the reboots of Jason & Michael Myers were waaaay better than that paranormal activity bull shit, but they just stopped making them.

real shit the omen scared the shit out of me and that was just the music.
now there is too much cgi in movies it looks fake. when the shit was made by hand it was much more realistic.

also you are right there no more movie genres. every movie out now has a bit of everything in it.:smh:

The same thing that happened to horror movies happened to hip hop. If somebody dies by something not human it's classified as horror. If someone is rapping no matter the beat, it's classified as hip hop. People scratch their heads when people consider pop songs hip hop at award shows. Horror movie goers and hip hop purists have the same conversations with different media.

That music can make or break a horror movie.

Mike Meyers and that piano was cold.

If we talking music don't sleep on those old Hitchcock joints. He practically invented or at least inspired much of modern day horror.
