A Washington state “team mom” is accused of having sex with an 11-year-old lacrosse player — whose coach was her husband, according to court documents.
Su Hyon Dillon, 44, admitted to “having problems in her marriage” when she began having sex with the boy in May 2014 at her Puyallup home, according to an affidavit filed last Wednesday in Pierce County superior court.
Investigators said the child was friends with Dillon’s son through the Emerald Ridge Lacross Club, where she was the “team mom.”
“[The victim] said that he would spend time at the house and she was the mother of a lacrosse teammate,” court documents said.
During a sleepover at her home, Dillon allegedly went into his room and initiated sex with him.
“She came into the room and laid next to him,” court documents said. “She slid her hands down his pants and gave him a hand job.”
Dillon then allegedly forced the boy to climb on top of her to have sex. He told her “he was concerned he would get her pregnant and she said she had her tubes tied.”
The sexual encounters usually were at her house but also occurred when the lacrosse team stayed in a hotel for a travel game, authorities said.
“They were in San Diego on a lacrosse trip and she came to his room,” authorities said. “She brought him some food then gave him a blow job in the hotel room.”
Court documents said the boy later became suicidal and started cutting himself. When he started skipping class, he was sent to live with his father in Virginia, according to his mother.
During a counseling session, the boy reportedly revealed he was raped by the coach’s wife. His mother notified authorities in April after her son told her what happened.
“This is somebody who has taken advantage of kids who are 10 and 11 years old. They’re not able to make those types of decisions at that age,” Det. Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff Department told the Tacoma News Tribune. “This is disturbing as a parent because you are sending your kid off to a friend’s house with what appeared to be a parent or parents who also coached the team, upstanding in the community, only to have your son victimized.”
Detectives confronted Dillon who confessed to the relationship and said the boy “made her feel good.” She claimed she didn’t have romantic feelings for the boy but “liked the attention,” authorities said.
“She said she knew it was wrong and wanted to end the relationship,” court documents said.
Dillon was arraigned in court last Wednesday on four counts of child rape. She pleaded not guilty and was ordered not to have contact with children, including her own.
