Supacell | New Black Superhero Drama | Discussion

that's crazy, they didn't say they were checking for other fans of the genre, professional critics - "we" need more than black approval before "we" give black entertainment a chance?!? People like that don't need their opinions replied to or shared but that's not the nature of the internet...

Kuunz are every where
I CAME in here hoping for an update on the Supacell show and get some bullshyt about a whole other show that I'll probably watch. Only to see these responses and got my blood boiling about these piece of shyt motherfcukers again. About to write a response only to notice that I ALREADY MADE a response!
These motherfcukers need to just trash their platforms and start over with a new name and not even show their faces..
YO! Fcuk these pieces of shyt! I generally don't wish death on a person, but I would take a trip out to London with my finest dancing shoes!

Rapper Ghetts is headed to prison for a long stretch ... but a new season of Netflix's "Supacell" -- a show in which he starred -- is still on the way ... though Netflix is being tight-lipped about the production.

Netflix confirmed to us production is underway for the popular British superhero series ... but refused to shine a light on what impact, if any, the development has on the show.

And that's a good question ... 'cause in "Supacell," Ghetts played the brutal villain Craig -- AKA "Krazy" -- whose fate was left somewhat ambiguous at the end of the first season.

Season 1 of the show was a hit ... with over 33 million hours of the program viewed in the first 3 days when it was released June 2024.

ICYMI ... Ghetts -- born Justin Clarke-Samuel -- was sentenced to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run crash that killed a student in England last year.

Ghetts consumed alcohol before getting behind the wheel on October 18 last year and colliding with Yabin Tamang, a 20-year-old Nepalese student, at 60 mph on a residential road in Ilford, East London.

So far, there's no release date for "Supacell" Season 2.

Rapper-actor Ghetts (real name Justin Clarke-Samuel) has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for killing a 20-year-old student in a fatal hit-and-run in October.

The 41-year-old East London native has also been barred from driving for 17 years after pleading guilty in December to causing the death of Nepalese student Yubin Tamang and another count of dangerous driving, according to a Crown Prosecution Service press release on Tuesday (March 3).

The Supacell actor drove under the influence of alcohol and struck Tamang on Oct. 18 in North East London and fled the scene to head home. Tamang died as a result of his injuries two days later. Ghetts, who was arrested on Oct. 19, was also speeding, as surveillance cameras found his BMW X5 traveling over 60 mph in a 30 mph zone.

“Justin Clarke-Samuel knew he was in no fit state to drive and there was clear evidence of his excessive speed and disregard for road users as he drove incredibly dangerously across our city,” said Crown Prosecution Service’s Shani Taggart. “We built a comprehensive case against Clarke-Samuel, focusing on CCTV footage, toxicology, and analysis of his mobile data to pinpoint his route through London.”

The district crown prosecutor continued: “After presenting this evidence, we secured guilty pleas to these two charges and today’s sentence will see Clarke-Samuel face the consequences of his fatal decision to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking. Our thoughts remain with Yubin Tamang’s family today as they grieve the loss of their only child, and with his loved ones who have to navigate a life without him.”

Ghetts had just started shooting season 2 of Supacell when the fatal hit-and-run took place in October. According to Deadline, filming didn’t finish.

On the music side, Ghetts’ last album arrived in 2024 with On Purpose, With Purpose, which featured Sampha, Lancey Foux and Dexta Daps.
