Suggestions for capturing Xbox game play to PC

My son is looking to capture his online game play for Youtube. I have an Elgato HDS that he can use. His first try ended up with a smooth capture, but the real time game play wasn't smooth, laggy that affected his results.

The PC:
Standard video card (GeForce GT 710)
Ryzen 5
32G Ram

Will a strong graphics card fix this issue?

Nope. He doesn't want to stream via twitch, he just wants to capture it locally. His issue is that once it comes through the capture card the video is too laggy to compete.

the streams are saved to his account, so he can retreive the gameplay from the twitch account and save locally. so his pc does not have to process a live video
