Study results: Internet Explorer 10 safer from Malware than Firefox and Chrome

Competition became the most popular browser in the world still continues. More recently, a study conducted NSS Labs noted that Internet Explorer 10 is the best browser in terms of blocking malware.

In the research, the company is testing the top five browsers. Tests carried out for 28 days to see which browser is the most widely blocking malware.

Internet Explorer 10 browser, Google Chrome 25 and 26, 19, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari 5 and Opera 12 tested 18,000 times. Testing was conducted to determine whether these browsers are able to block all malicious URLs on Windows 8 computers.

From the test results, Internet Explorer 10 top ranks were able to block the malware to 99.96%. While Google Chrome occupied the second position with 73.16%, followed by 10.15% Safari 5, Firefox 19 to 9.92%, and Opera 12 with 1.87%.

IE has actually been pretty solid since around 8 or 9. The poor performance in the past and lack of personalization and customization like browsers like Chrome pushed most folks away.

It's because of the smartfilter. All the other browsers rely on a blocklist that can sometimes take hours to update while IE by default will block an app it does not recognize. Everyone likes to shit on IE but this is perfect for most computer users who don't know any better.
