STREET FIGHTER IV Official BGOL Thread + Video Review!

:lol::lol::lol: You do not want to see my GIEF then :smh::smh:

All that work I put in with HUGO is paying off

The whole thing with Geif was the pay off of being able to get close enough to do the major damage. Now in SFIV the input throws are so prioritized and the hit box goes behind him... it's BROKEN.

That's why stat padders are using him so much. Once the other low level n00bs online realize it, expect to see a lot more of him. All it takes is one youtube video.

Most people use Ken & Ryu cause they are scrubs and the high damage combos are easy to button mash and have easy cross ups. Noobs don't use big slow russians until they realize big slow russian has serious exploits to abuse.

ALright i'll try this out, but before i do so, i'm using the madcatz SE fightstick, Would this be easier using the reg PS3 COntroller?

That depends on the person. :dunno:

Me personally? I'd use the stick.

BUT.

As far as fighting games go, If there is no stick around, I want to use a Playstation controller.

Nah Fam.

Would love to hear what Daimy0 got to say bout Spamgeif.

Zangief has CRAZY priority in this game...and is pretty high up in the tier bracket for a reason...Shit I can only remember a few games where Zangief wasn't top tier.

The catch is with him is...He's easy to spam with...BUT a nightmare to use against someone who is actually decent. When you start seeing Ex Green Hands...very few jumps and cr jab X4 combos, and a VERYYYYYYYYYY patient Gief Player...it's trouble fams...

You need to simply stay out of his reach....and know that scrubs can only buffer 360 Moves out of jumps or empty jump-ins....
There is no shame in playing keep away from Gief. When I see a gief player...I abandon Gouken and fuck with Ryu...Keep the zone with Fireballs and cr. mk's...Jump after the Gief does empty jump in to buffer 360's...play patient and shoryuken jump in attempts> Ex Fireball or Ultra...You have to play patient and remember that any opening or whiff is probably going to get piledrived whether Expert or novice. I know there are cats online just swingin that 360 Pad waiting for a 360 Move...you have to watch patterns and bait wiffs....Spinning Lariat is tricky..Jump Ins will get STUFFED...either sweep him while he spams the lariat or be patient...You truly have to know your pokes and your character to play against gief...They gave him the tools to easily pick a part button mashers...

FROM NOW ON...HEADS NEED TO DROP THEIR MAINS( and others) SO I CAN GIVE CHARACTER SPECIFIC ADVICE, I Can't speak about matchups from a general viewpoint.......

DROP YOUR MAINS

Dirty Bodega- Main: Gouken/Ryu/Rose/

Even though the video was stuttering when I watched it I could've sworn Balrog was out of throw range when Zangief hit him with the 360 at the 1:48 mark.

360 Max Range...
If You notice that Balrog player jumping back right after he blocked a green hand.....
Gotta pick up good 360 cues...that green hand buffer into 360 is CRAZY

Main - Rog/*Guile (*since they nerfed Guile I haven't practiced him much on SFIV though)

I have problems with Rog vs. Spanish Fagot Ninja when he spams wall jumps (head but wiffs all the time). I try to TAP out but can't get the timing. Rog vs. Geif is not even worth speaking on. I'm disconnecting out those on sight. People usually wait to see who I pick. Geif vs. Bison has become a pain in my ass lately too because it's hard to punish any of his missteps.

My Rog REALLY hates cross ups too, I'm blocking them better but usually eat a throw after and I'm usually too slow brained to tech out.

Fuck boy shotos eat leather and die outside of that. I only respect people who REALLY REALLY play Ken & Ryu on a technical level.

I have to say Dirty Bodega beat on me like I owed him money or something. :smh::smh: Back to the training room I go. The game was lagging, but I still got beat. I was happy to get win a round!!:lol:

I just want to say, I do play better than this!! between the lag and nothing connecting, I got beat up bad!! :smh::angry::lol::lol: The vid is a little off cause my cam moved when my chair hit my game rack where it was next to. I have another vid, I'll post it when it finishes uploading. But I did just as bad.

I main Zangief and have been mainning him since SFII C.E.

SynKyller is the game tag and here are my vids.

With those type of linking moves I always do them in the corner so space isn't an issue.

i do to. maybe im not doing the moves fast enough, but after the hard punch he moves back, i think the kick brings you over to him but i guess im not doing it in time.

My mains are Balrog (See Avy) and Cammy. Range Pokes merk Geif. Just use alot of normals against him. With Balrog i would use Standing ST, Crouching RH, Crouching Med. Jab straight punches work well. Geif isnt broken. Sagat is still god of this game

Haha you recorded our match...MAN That was HORRIBLE on both sides...The lag doesn't look as crazy as it was playing in that vid...but damn my timing was off....

I realized using the wireless connection....is causing my lag..
Wired it up and everything is right....Post some videos of us playing a good lag-free game...in the future..

Good shit liquid
