I played SFII since the original in the arcades, and played the fuck out of it soon as that shit came out on Super Nintendo. I thought I would love this game, it's been 20 years in the making. I took a 10 dollar loss on this shit and sold it the very next day on Half.com (affiliate of Ebay).
Problem is, after playing 3D fighting games like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Soul Calibur, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get myself to like Street Fighter again. It's not a true martial arts game (I'm not saying anyone claimed it was). All it is is people throwing projectiles at each other. Yeah I know that's how it's always been, but still. AFter playing 3D martial arts games, I realized in this game, there's no "moves" other than your special moves. All your non-special attacks feel arbitrary, in the sense that when you're attacking, there's really not a whole lot that differentiates between you doing say a "Medium Kick" as opposed to a "Light Kick." Yeah, frame advantage, combo setups, etc
