Spider-Man: No Way Home | Official Thread | Marvel / Sony

And the room is all icy

So you saying hell froze over?

Nah man. They crossed over into the DC universe and recruited Mr. Freeze to join the Sinister 6. Some idiot on Twitter will believe that.

But to answer the question, it's winter and the poster shows Spider-Man standing at the hole in the window.

Nah I'm saying that's not Dr strange

OK then thanks

I think there was a thread on this and I forgot

But that starts next year...

I wonder if they would push the button on making this movie be on Disney +
Seems like it would be headache trying to figure out how to split the profits.

Do a 50/50 split between box-office and premier access? Will Disney be open to giving Sony some extra dough to make up for the box office hit it will take with a dual release?

Also, I think Sony's current deal with Starz may prevent Disney from getting this one any sooner.

If you wonder if the movie can do well in the Covid era, look at Fast 9...681 million to date.

Interesting and valid points...

But the theatre numbers for every one else is still dismil

I think we can use widow, free guy, and very soon Shang as the measuring stick moving forward.

the fda vaccination clearance will help a lot.

But I still think it is something sony and Disney should at LEAST have a zoom call about.

Why not?

Starz ain't gonna get it same day anyway.

Now that you mention it,they may could do a limited window release like they do for HBO MAX. After a month, it gets pulled from Plus.
However, could Starz sue based on Sony not giving them first use for exclusive broadcast rights as contracted or would this be considered a separate VOD release?

Yes they probably could and would sue...

But to me this is just a good conversation for ALL parties to have

We seen EVERY ONE have to adjust and pivot to the new world.

Even as a one off or test case?

Why not?

No one is going to LOSE MONEY

this is only going to bring more money more eyes more views more subscribers to the party

No downside.

If it works?

We might have yet ANOTHER revenue stream we all can benefit from with absolutely no additional effort. We=these rich white men

If it does nothing?

It still did something... now they have metrics numbers examples and something they can use as a test case...

And a TON of good will with customers making this movie so available.

Nobody was risking covid for a black widow backstory movie.
my point was disney pulled a bait and switch inspite of Scarlett having a set contract.

pray I don't alter the deal any further.

The new Spider-Man movies don’t do it for me. Marvel got it right with Amazing Spider-Man 1&2. I pray to God, Allah, Krishna, Jehovah, Gia, etc they don’t fuck up Blade.

The only super hero movie that seems promising is The Batman
