She is 37 and has to have a mastectomy. Crazy. I mean, she caught it early, stage 1, but still. Cancer is cancer. They just came out saying that they removed the cancer, and are now doing the reconstruction. Just wow. Life is short, y'all. This is my cousin, my tiny lil 4'11" cousin. Man, sitting here is just wild.

If they caught all of the cancer and it didn t spread to the lymph nodes or beyond...with surveillance and radiation she should be fine bruh...

It s an ordeal but with family strongly supporting you all will help her get through it well

Thanks to all those that stopped and gave prayers and well wishes, and prayers to those of you that have lost family members to this monster or currently have family members and friends still fighting.

Her lymphnodes seem clear according to her doc, so we have to wait and see, but for right now I want to stay until she wakes up. I'm tired as hell. Been up since yesterday. Took a day and a half off of work (family care leave) to just be there with her and for her and I had an hours sleep in 2 days. Thank God she caught it early. This cancer shit is no joke and your best bet if you have it is to catch it early because if you don't...we...that is your ass, but your body has a ton of hiding places and by the time you start seeing symptoms it may be too late.

I know. This is a difficult thing for a number of people. I talked to people on the phone at work and said that I would be out and why to two people (I don't know why I even disclosed this to them) and one of them said that they had just gotten off the phone with a family member and the other said that he'd visited his uncle yesterday who just found out. Those skin stretchers are very uncomfortable. Make sure she has lots to support at home. Trying to maneuver with the drainage tubes is troublesome. Just be there for her, and let her talk it out.
