I'd like to start by saying thank you.

This is one of the most significant posts I've ever seen on BGOL. I'm not even sure people on here will even understand or take advantage of the information in this one post. There is literally all of the information needed to get started in this one thread. I work for GSA and can say there is millions of dollars set aside for minority, women-owned, veteran, and disabled veteran contracts. Once you get the business set up and jump through the bureaucratic hoops there is a lot of potential to earn decent money.

If you are a veteran-owned small business and you want to do business with the VA Hospital, you have to get your business registered in vet biz. The process is painstaking, but they ensure that the business is owned, I mean actually owned buy a veteran

Throughout history, some businesses have either had a figurehead veteran who owned the business in name only (they paid some veteran line $100,000 to say HE was the owner and he wasn't. This allowed the business to secure millions on government contracts

OR

Certain business is claimed to be a veteran-owned small business or a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (VOSB/SDVOSB) when they actually were not and meanwhile secured MILLIONS in government contracts

Registration last 3 years and it does not renew automatically. If you let your registration expire to get it restarted is painstaking, though not as painstaking as it is to start, but it's worth it

Because of the Kingdomware ruling in 2014 I believe, VA hospital has to give SDVOSB VOSB first crack (set aside), even if it costs a little more

So, if you can set the business up to be a large business or even a small business distributor for the manufacturer you can make big money

"I want to be a distributor for your business. I and the owner of a SDVOSB and I served in the Navy for12 years.

By allowing BGOL.Inc to distribute for your company I will be able to increase your profits because my company's status as a SDVOSB allows us greater access to government contracts and it doesn't cost you a dime.

If you are the manufacturer of a Spacely Sprocket that costs $20,000, you will still be paid $20,000. My My mark up is 6%, but the increase in business will make the relationship work for both of us"

this conversation damn near verbatim would work for your business

( I believe this is the link right here, if it's not, I will look it up on Monday. I already packed away my computer)

In my experience, general construction contracting is the biggest consistent need across the board. Every time a Government agency moves into a new space or upgrades/repairs their current space then construction contracts (and other types) are needed. With the majority of those upgrades and space alterations comes things like: demolition, painting and furniture removal/installation.

Repairs and alterations are a consistent area where my Agency seeks out contractors. During my time with GSA as a Building Manager, I’ve worked with contractors for things such as: Wall/door installation, concrete repair, fountain/water feature repair, snow removal/winter services(where applicable), flooring, electrical work such as data cable, HVAC repair, locks and physical barrier repair, windows, metal refinishing, wood refinishing, plumbing, etc.

The areas with the highest probability to make good consistent money are: General construction contracting, Electrical work, Concrete/Road work and HVAC.

Hope this helps!
