Yes .. Percocet affects the way brain responds to pain, affects the nervous system, is an opiod. Vicodin was (is) the drug of choice of Bret Farve and many NFL'ers, its similar to Percocet, changes the brain, makes you fell wonderful but the pain still exist, the nerves are still firing but the drugs and block the synaptic path ways. Both are addictive.
When I hurt my back a few years ago. The hospital gave me percoet. Never had that shit before. My second day of taking them. I made the mistake of not eating anything .Mayne I felt dizzy like a mothafucka. Told my friend what happen mofo was like "nigga you was high"
