Congress does not have any source of powers to "delete" amendments. Congress can propose new amendments that repeal prior amendments. What was the last amendment to be repealed? The 18th Amendment, aka the "Prohibition" amendment, by the 21st Amendment.

To my understanding the GOP were trying to amend the 14th amendment to make it impossible for a non citizen(illegal immigrants) to have a child in the US and that child be an American citizen. Overturning the bill is news to me.

Correct, and the only part of that amendment that deals with citizenship is Section 1, correct? The same section that granted slaves and their descendants citizenship. The Supreme Court ruled in Dred Scott vs Sandford that slaves and children born to those slaves could NEVER be US citizens. The 14th Amendment basically overruled that decision.

2) Citizenship can be revoked= Not unless you renounce it or were found to gain citizenship through fraud (in short)
