Things will never change until players band together and demand at least 50% of head coaches be black. This is only fair given 80% of the players on the field are black. Problem is way too many really don't give a shit because they're not willing to risk not getting all that cake. :hmm:

FWIW, they also had Jim Caldwell in for a second interview on this same day... also reached out to Tony Dungy to get his feelings on Caldwell

Everything of note that I've read has it down to 3 coaches, all black:

Jim Caldwell, Leslie Frazer and Eric Bieniemy

IMO, 31 of the 32 NFL Owners (Pittsburgh Owner is the only one because they came up with rule) can't stand the Rooney Rule because they don't like to be what to do when it comes to their hiring practices. Shit all of them just bring in a black coach for an interview just to say they followed the rule and did it. They are arrogant, selfish MoFo's that are going to do that they want no matter what.

We all know there is no way in hell EB should not be getting a chance and hired as a NFL HC, especially over some of these Honkys that are getting a chance. Please, majority of them are not as qualified as EB, but again its these owner and their way of thinking. Most do not want to go again the grain and hire a black coach. Just look at the one team I mentioned, the Steelers, they have had three coaches since their existence and the current one is a brother, they took a chance on home and look at the results.

These NFL owners are cowards and some chumps. I hope when EB does get a Gig, he does well like I know he will.

Just my 2 cents

systemic racism and white supremacy.
they own all the teams and are in charge of organizational staffing of players and personnel
nothing will ever change unless there's owners of color in the league

Like someone mentioned the other day, he need to wait for big Andy Reid to retire
and then take over, Andy Reid probably has a couple of more years left before he gives it up, i love Andy Reid
but his heavy breathing ass barely can walk right now :giggle:

so the word is this...

after a SERIOUS backlash from the league AND players and even some OWNERS because of the way they f*cked up this entire situation

they trying to backdoor McCown to be coach.

Bart Scott said they gonna add him to the staff and the brother is just a token hire for a year or too.

At this point his coaching job will be replacing Andy Reid. I wish Reid would retire to let him take over.

He hasn't even retired yet...

It's amazing, how they'll interview Josh McCown but Caldwell can't get a fucking interview until Watson showed his displeasure.

This could be another workaround for subpar backup white QBs who retire. Ride the success of a talented young Black QB as a quick way to work the coaching career ladder or entry points.

T.J. Yates, a former backup quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, has joined Arthur Smith's coaching staff, the team announced Saturday morning. Yates will be a passing game specialist.

Yates comes from Houston Texans, where he was the assistant quarterbacks coach last season. In 2019, he was an offensive assistant. In 2020, the Texans' offense averaged 375.3 total yards per game, 283.6 passing yards per game while averaging 24.0 points per game.
